You mention that the weather station should be no more than 6 feet off the ground, but the wind meter should be 33 feet. How would you go about installing something where all the instruments are in one?

This is a great question. It depends on preference. If I have a way to get the sensor that high, I'll do that. However, that comes with the risk of other measurements being less accurate (for example, temperature may read high due to reflected heat off your roof, etc). If you choose height, I recommend mounting it off the side of the house to limit that. Also, as I said, even getting it 10-20 feet off the ground will give you fairly accurate wind readings. If wind isn't that big of a deal in your location, I'd keep it on the ground though. Easier in the end to maintain, too.

Hi I'm thinking about getting the ECOWITT Wittboy HP2564 soon and plan to mount it on the side of the carport which has a colorbond roof and the structure is away from trees etc. I will use a Curved Fascia Mount with a pole hight of about 2.6m would this be a suitable location? I'm mainly interested in temperature & humidity and rain fall not so much wind speed.

@@xrmte From what you're describing, that should be fine. With the Wittboy haptic rain sensor, that needs to be COMPLETELY level to work right, so make sure of that, or you might find the rain readings way off. (I would buy a manual rain gauge though, haptics is sometimes problematic with rain measurement).

@@theweatherstationexperts thanks for replying yes I do have a manual rain Guage and no doubt I will need to calibrate the wittboy I have done that with other weather stations with the tipping bucket But this one has no moving parts. Is it pretty straight forward when adjusting the rain sensor on the wittboy? Oh and you said sometimes can be problematic even when calibrated? Any advice would be helpful.
