These visas are interesting and reassuring for those who want to live and work in Dubai for a long period of time. It will enable many to plan ahead and build at least a part of their lives in Dubai and the UAE.

Now in my 70’s I only hold 3 passports any more, l surrendered my French and Lithuanian a couple of years back. My personal choice was to give up any ties to the EU. My oldest/ longest held is Swiss. My second is Israeli and my 3rd is Bahamian where my home is now. I grew up in the U.S. but surrendered my U.S.citizenship in 2012. after leaving the Marine Corps I went and joined the French foreign Legion and spent most of my time in Morocco. Opened a bank account and rented my first flat in Switzerland in 1975. I was raised Baptist but am Jewish by birth. My Grandfather was born in Lithuania in 1889 and I have his birth records. I am a retired corporate pilot, but still own several planes I lease out to a Air Service in the Cayman Islands.

Not uncommon to have 20 stock dogs at any one time.🤷‍♂️ Now why the Bahamas, well it was an accident. My children can come and see me in less than 4 hours. It’s English speaking, none of my children are multilingual. Not in a war zone nor a earthquake, just hurricanes ( my home sits 90’ above high tide and is made of concrete and steel, Solar powered and I have a large rain water catchment system. Swimming pool + 2 miles of white sandy private beach.) in more than 30 years of living here I have never had a Direct hit from a hurricane, most go to the east and north. I am so far south the U.S. politics don’t affect me anymore. The local people are very friendly and make you feel at home. I am near Georgetown Exuma. 160 miles south of Nassau, not as touristy.

I respect Andrew and think he is honest, but some of the places he promotes are not very safe for several reasons, for instance Turkey and surrounding countries have had repeated earthquakes in the past few months. Puerto Rico has been hit with several hurricanes in the past few years. The politics there are corrupt. and crime is higher compared to other U.S. Territories in the Caribbean. Several years ago I was on a golf course in Jamaica where a kid walked up and wanted to sell me drugs. I refused him, and he got mad. Didn’t think about it till I was trying to depart where I was strip searched and my luggage was torn apart. It was apparent I was set up. I don’t even drink alcohol. My biggest sin is ice tea and Swiss chocolate.
