I will try and keep this comment updated with any more tips I come across! R/S/E: I made a mistake with how to make red pokeblocks. Check the Berry video in the description for better info. (If you're using two games to make them I used a Cheri Berry and a Figy Berry) White flute stacks with Illuminate in Emerald onward. Get one on route 113 for 1000 steps worth of ash. (if that takes too long and you want multiple, use the cloning glitch to get more!) DPPT/HGSS: White flute can be found at Valor Lakefront in Platinum & Route 47 in HG/SS. BDSP: Critical Captures work in the zone so complete as much of your pokédex as possible for better capture odds, or keep it empty for a harder challenge!

Does the bike-hopping method for staying in the safari-zone work in just emerald, or in ruby and sapphire as well? I have a ruby copy I plan on hunting alongside emerald but it's internal battery is dead

@@corbinmoore96 Bike hopping doesn't use up any steps in Ruby Sapphire or Emerald! However the encounters might take longer because the illuminate ability only works in Emerald onward.

1 year late but in FRLG to avoid the step counter without using sweet scent you can just turn around in circles instead of running around. Also in gen 4 illuminate should stack with the bicycle’s increased encounter rate for faster encounters.

Yes illuminate does stack with the bike especially in HGSS, the "great" marsh's mud isn't great for the bike though. And while you can technically avoid the step limit like that in FRLG it is incredibly tedious & slow so probably not worth it

Yes it does! So in Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green the white flute is your best bet because out of battle abilities don't work. But in Emerald you can stack Illuminate and white flute. Especially if you're doing a repel trick like level 40 for miltank you'll practically need both because of how slow your encounters will be.

My very first Kangaskhan encounter during my first Shining Pearl Playthru in the post game, back in late 2021, around the time BD/SP had first released,(November - December of 2021). Each and everyday, during the post game, after I had also completed the Sinnoh dex and got the national dex, I would use the binoculars to check where some spawns where in the safari zone, as after you get the national dex and beat the Pokemon league, as alot more rarer and different spawns, begin appearing in the Sinnoh Safari zone, that were originally not there during the pre game, before beating the Pokemon league and getting the national dex. To eventually, being able to catch spawnd such as Paras, as well as I beileve Ekans, Gulpin with amoung the two rarest post game spawns, and rarest spawns in the safari overall, being Yanma & Kangaskhan. Very low spawn rate as well as an extremely low catch rate, so not only is it hard to get one to spawn, even if you do encounter one, the odds of the Pokemon breaking out the safari ball and fleeing are much higher than catching the said Pokemon in the safari ball. Anyway I would use the binaculars to search for any post game spawns that, I had not yet caught, to begin working on my national dex. As after using the binaculars atleast a few times, I would know what rare spawn was available that day and was even able to eventually find the exact and accurate location of the said spawn, as that in itself can be difficult as the areas look very similar to one another and can be very easy to confuse one area for another. However, I would closely and carefully look at the smallest significant details, that let me know I was on the exact area of the rare spawn in the binaculars. I would screenshot the area of rare spawn siting in binaculars, just to use to carefully look at it, and study it, as well as use as reference when searching for that exact area to find the rarer safari zone spawns. Therefore one day I saw Kangaskhan was available thru the binaculars that day, and had not yet caught a single Kangaskhan, nor had it registered to my national dex in SP. I screenshot the area of siting and eventually found the exact area where the said Kangaskhan was located. Also I used a Pokemon with sweet scent, as that is alot more efficient to use in safari zone hunts, to go on the patch as accurately as possible, as to how it was placed in the siting, and kept using sweet scent on same patch instead of running on circles to eventually time out of safari zone. It may take a few tries as it's not guaranted to get the rare spawn first try as you will likely encounter several of the more common spawns such as Whooper, Bibarel, etc. Thus after I used sweet scent about 3-5 times I get my very first ever Kangaskhan to spawn in my SP playthrough during the post game and unexpectedly of all things to happen this Kangaskhan was also shiny as it sparkled and noticed it's different color right away. I remember how nervous I got, my heart stopped because I was thinking how high of a probably it would be to break out of the ball and run away and would be so disappointing if it happens, I was like I hope this isn't a teaser disappointment shiny, that flees for good. The first thing I do is just throw the ball without thinking twice no way was I going to give it food nor throw mud to still run the risk of it fleeing after, my thoughts was if it may flee next turn I may as well have one shot of throwing a Pokeball to see if it stays. I throw the firstball, it broke out, however it still remained put and didn't run away. I throw secondball and same thing broke out but still remains put. Then third time was a charm and I caught it! I was estatic that day, because I knew exactly how rare of a shiny this was given the circumstances, of course anyone can easily breed a shiny Kangaskhan via mesuda method however to have one caught straight out of the safari zone in BDSP, with it being the top rarest spawns in that Safari zone, and not only that but my first every Kangaskhan encounter being even more rare with it being a shiny and managing to catch it against all odds of it breaking out and running away is definitely a special and rare shiny for sure.

You can repel trick for the dailies in Platinum to make them 20% instead of 10%. I do not recommend hunting there as it took me a grand total of 21 phases and 452 days total to get my daily Kecleon. Another thing to note is you can make Tangela and Yanma have around a 93 or so% chance in Platinum but you have to do some screwy repel tricking with hustle along with dual slot and depending on what area you get, you'll get either Tangela or Yanma with that. Also The Great Marsh has the Bait and Mud inverted compared to all other games so lmao if you throw those. Last thing to note, if you don't use a white flute combined with either illuminate or hustle in the Great Marsh, you are an absolute nutjob.

With a dead battery, you may hit the same frames over and over again in gen 3. I'd recommend finding a guide from someone like ShinyCollector on the specifics of it. Because soft reseting in Emerald or a dead battery R/S is annoying and I'm not the best person to explain it

Shiny Pokemon in Emerald function the same way as every other game when it's a random encounter. It's only preset encounters, such as legendary Pokemon or the starters where it's no longer random.

That's only for soft reset encounters like legendary pokemon or starters. Random encounters are fine

There is no cheating to that. So go off saying how rare your garchomp shiny is when theres 4 wasting away in my box.
