The consolle and the doors DO NOT HAVE FAKE WOOD in this version, the Overland. They have true briar wood, just plasticized. Infact any unit of these Overland have different briar aspect, for colors and textures. The Limited version have fake walnut wood and so it is also for all the Jeep Commander, they have a low quality fake [printed] briar.

Buttons in the central console are illuminated, but often the bulbs are gone, so you have to change them. The trunk lift amortiseurs are not stock, because they are not so strong

Easy to fix the problem: it's quite simple to remove the center console, disconnect the cables, then open each unit, remove the old filament bulbs and solder there 12V LEDs [of good quality] of the desired color, to fully restore the lighting, even better than the original, avoiding putting too bright LEDs that could bother the eyes, driving at night. Here on KZbin someone has made tutorials on how to do it, and there is also useful information in other social groups of this Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005-2010 (WK/WH), especially on Facebook where I also put my contribution [with a different name for the account]. Of course it's easy for those who have a normal ability to perform simple manual works, predisposition to do-it-yourself, with basic knowledge and equipment to disassemble the parts and do desoldering and soldering.

Planning on getting one, how is it holding up? You got the Facelift model?

@@Da_Hansl no facelift or any kind of kit on mine so far. Its good, engine is from mercedes and I got belt replaced for chain. Seviced it and its good to go for a tour de spain next week with my mrs and my son. Driving on the motorway feels good and safe up to 130-140kmh than its a bit soft. Lots of space at the back.
