I bought one 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I sometimes drink long blacks and all I do is when I turn the SPX on I also flick the jug on and use that water instead of faffing around with the water spout. I wish not having one was a option really. Great review BTW it really helped me decide👌

17:16 I gave purchased rancillio pro x to replace my sylvia and having trouble frothing the milk. Could it be not waiting long enough after the light stops flashing.

Good question. Yes that would be a good place to start. If you can give the machine around 30 minutes to heat up, it should give you a good amount of pressure for milk steaming.

I just got mine this weekend, but the pressure gague reads at 4-5 bar, I think likely due to the transport issues you mentioned, the overpressure valve must have moved around, excited to get it working perfectly soon

Pre-infusion / soft infusion helps.to.reduce chanelling through the puck resulting in a more even extraction which should taste better as you have described.

PS I have this machine in white too and I am very happy with it. Temperature stability for espresso shot after shot is great.

With regards to the water spot resulting in having to wait for the steam to get back up, when I'm making an Americano, I don't need to steam any milk. If I make a second drink requiring steamed milk, by the time the 2nd shot has been pulled, steam is ready again.

How many lattes could I do in a half hour? We have 3 people in our household that loves to drink espresso.

I would say you could make 3 latte shots on this machine, back to back very quickly, steaming the milk while they’re running. If you use a large jug of milk and steam enough for 2 or even 3 of the lattes (splitting the milk between them) you should be able to keep your household caffeinated within about 10 minutes or so 😋
