That flywheel is causing a lot of work for people. It's probably secretly laughing. 🤣🤣🤣

It's pretty cool that you can drill between the magnets. I'll remember that for next time. Thanks for sharing.

Shop class 101, I see what you mean about stacking your push rods. You have a lathe, why not turn a custom rod to fit? Thanks for sharing

That’s crazy that your ground location welded the flywheel on. I had a 550 that had the flywheel welded directly to the crank, on purpose. Believe it or not, saved both 👍

Doesn't that flywheel have an inner thread for a removal tool or big bolt?
@WVdavidB8 ай бұрын
Not on a 650. You use harmonic balancer puller and it has three threaded bolt holes. Never want to thread the bolts in too far as you'll damage the stator coils. Sadly I did once ;/

My brother hurt his hand pretty bad one time using a press. Piece flew out and ripped his hand. He had to go get stitched back together. I have myself avoided some near misses from parts flying out at me. It can definitely be dangerous for sure. 👍 Good video Jimmy! 💯

Did you get your bullet boat running yet? See you on the sandbar run
@thomasmcgovern24318 ай бұрын
Jim air gap between flywheel and crank caused the arc weld,you should of tacked weld with ground on bars as well as welded finish on bar with ground on bar,if you investigate you might see taper was off on hub compared to crank taper.

Did Kawasaki send new crankshafts to the people who had purchased the skis with bad crankshafts? I bet that's what wrong with my ski.

Do your arms ever get burned from welding? mine do, I have to cover up even when its a million degrees outside because one time I looked like I had buckshot all over my arms. Everyone had to keep asking what happened.

I'm mechanically incompetent, what's a grade 8 bolt mean?
@motardmike8 ай бұрын
Made from High tensile steel (graded 8) much stronger and able to withstand deflection.
@jetskijim0077 ай бұрын
There is a grading system on how hard a bolt is. The lower the grade, the softer the bolt. Grade 2 is just mild steel turned into a bolt. Grade 5 is much stonger. Grade 8 is the hardest readily available bolt. So it was less likely to change shape while using in the press.

That was not from your welding, I think it was from a dry thrust washer, that is a guess, but it was not from your welding.
