Great tips!!! I'm putting together an all-in-one box. I may be back with some questions.

This bars are awesome, love the cable management, and great rig awesome ideas thanks for sharing. Did you get an issues with frequencies on the mics and packs with the antena cables so close in the rack? I ask since it was an issue for us and we solved it by separating iem and mics Antenna cables as much as we could.

The RF paddles are placed far apart on stage and we haven’t had any issues. Check out the “Full Band Rig” walkthrough to see it set up for a show!

can you share the model of the antena combiner? thanks
@CoverBandConfidential2 жыл бұрын
The antenna combiner is the Sennheiser AC-3. The antenna distributor is the RF Venue Distro 4. I did a full rundown of that piece of gear on the channel as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5PXhICph6p-aJY

what antennas do you use for signal combiners? Thank you!
@CoverBandConfidential2 жыл бұрын
For the IEM combiner we use the Sennheiser A1031-U Passive Omnidirectional Antenna. The wireless mics have a RF Venue Diversity Fin.
@CoverBandConfidential10 ай бұрын
So sorry for the late reply. We use a passive Sennheiser paddle.

Excellent video. My band has something similar except we split it into to road cases for ease of portability. Two questions: what purpose does the antenna splitter serve? I assume improved range or signal fidelity. And, can you use it for both your IEMs and mics? Thanks.
@CoverBandConfidential2 жыл бұрын
That unit is an antenna combiner, not splitter. It serves two purposes. It does increase the strength of the signal and improves coverage. It also powers the IEM units over the BNC connection on the back. It does not work with wireless mics because this unit pushes a signal OUT and a mic antenna distributor pull the mic signal IN. I have a full video about the RF Venue Distro4 for our microphones.

How do you get backing tracks to foh
@CoverBandConfidential2 жыл бұрын
In most cases this rack is our FOH as well. Otherwise we can re-route via the aux outputs or use an external interface.

Looks like you are running Ableton in Session View. Use to run in Session. So much automation going on though I switched over to Arrangement View. Just way easy to make adjustments on the timeline instead of having to consolidate it to move it to Session.
@chothemusical3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rob! I agree, arrangement view is easier for a lot of reasons but can be more time consuming as well. We actually jump back and forth (sometimes in the same session- as we did with the gig Adam mentioned in the vid). It’s not hard but I probably wouldn’t build it like that if I wasn’t firing it on stage. I’m a big fan of arrangement view but sometimes it scares people if they aren’t used to running Live (since I’m not always the one firing). I use MIDI via IAC drivers to make scene change automations and, when needed, I duplicate certain clips to the next scene and let it pick up where it needs to to make a seamless transition. Either way, I always start in session view since it’s easier to drag and drop projects into the template. I can definitely see us moving to arrangement view as the main view in the not too distant future, tho.

@@chothemusical right we honestly use 1 master setlist so it’s really not much work management. I am sure we will reach a point where I need to split by sets. But other than that Set list does all of the heavy lifting. I have a business that primarily focuses on Ableton for Playback purposes so I am pretty quick at it. I always worked in both and thought I was fast building in session, but honestly It did not take long for me to become faster at arrangement. Probably two sets in I realized wow… I am flying s it’s all about working from consistent templates. If you are ever interested in seeing what I have going. Hit me up.
@chothemusical3 жыл бұрын
@@robsharp2941 Right on. Yeah, man, I always love seeing other peoples’ setups. Live is one of my love languages 🤪. I don’t like to use a master project on the stage (plus our song list pretty large with regularly changing set lists). And yes- template, template, template. Makes it too easy!
@robsharp29413 жыл бұрын
@@chothemusical part of our thing is an app that allows people at the event to send request . That’s why I have a Master. At some point if that changes I would probably do it by sets. The Great thing is with Setlist they don’t have to be in order and you have flexibility. How do you deal with request?
@chothemusical3 жыл бұрын
@@robsharp2941 Gotcha! Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Normally we don't handle a ton of requests. I save each song (with its session view automation) as it's own project so I can drag and drop whatever song into that night's set. Then even drag into arrangement view, if needed. As long as the template matches up, it's a two second process.
