Picked up Tina recently and got 2nd at my local with it. This video has given me a whole new prospective on the match ups though and the right plays. Love the content.

I just started playing Pokemon through Pokemon Live like a couple of weeks ago and I really liked the Giratina VStar precon. After netdecking a better version of the precon, I came across your vid and I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it. Specifically, the matchup section was really nice to have as a new player! I think I'll get more mileage out of the deck constructing parts of your guide when I get more experience with the game as a whole and climb up ranked a bit more. Thanks for the guide!

You ignored valiant, though here’s win condition for ya’ll, save carts and limit bench size, don’t burn paths as valiant play 4 basin so always combo with roxanne/iono when given the chance, go second always and place ONLY tina’s within matchup, if necessary get one comfey into play giving an slightly awkward prize trade for opponent
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
Valiant has kind of gone down in meta share so I didn't include it, but thank you for the insights! I agree that if you keep spamming disruption + path you should be able to eventually take them out.

@@CiaranTCG it’s severely slept on - the deck can pull of insane combo’s and is very aggressive, pretty much having good matchups throughout the meta - i still think its good to cover though this video is amazing enough, we can’t thank you enough for these series of videos helping new competitors out!

Awesome video, really great insight. Only minor thing I’d add is that I think that without tomb, mew is a 20-80 matchup, but with tomb it’s 80-20. Still doesn’t mean you should play it if you don’t expect mew to be a big part of the meta, but it turns a near autoloss into a near autowin.
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
Do you think the matchup is 20-80 into both dte and fusion mew??
@davidyounan57748 ай бұрын
absolutely not true if the mew player has to use forest seal stone early your roxanne path late game can cripple them so its more like 60-40 without tomb
@d25wing8 ай бұрын
@@CiaranTCG Probably pretty close to that for both without tomb. DTE mew plays lots of path outs and draw supporters, so path doesn't really slow them down as much. With tomb, DTE is 80-20, but Fusion is probably 70-30. Still very favored, but them having a higher damage cap and more tools is annoying.
@d25wing8 ай бұрын
@@davidyounan5774 It definitely can, but since mew now plays so many path outs, it's rare that they wouldn't be able to bounce path between vacuums and crams. My experience is that the matchup is very poor, but if you've had a higher rate of success, I'd trust your own testing.
@davidyounan57748 ай бұрын
@@d25wing the chance u get roxanned into the path bump without an active forest seal stone is pretty low. Its definitely giratinas only out for winning the matchup, especially since youre going to be burning path bumps throughout the game

Awesome video! Thanks a lot for the tips, it will help me to improve my game for sure. Just a little question, what should be my gameplan againts Roaring Moon? This is THE deck I can't defeat. Thanks again and keep the good work!
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
Glad the video was helpful! The roaring moon matchup is kind of similar to Miraidon in the sense that they are going to go super aggro and then you need well timed Roxanne/Path to slow them down at the end. I think you need to hit their roaring moon with a cram early so when you roxanne them when they are at 2 (assuming they KO 2 giratina) you can use sableye to throw them off the prize trade.

Great guide it has been really useful. Any take on what to do when path goes with rotation?? how would you play the deck instead?? Considering that the strongest point of Tina is the roxxane-path play
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
Thank you! There's still more cards to be revealed before rotation so maybe Tina will get more tools. Losing Path will be big, I think the deck may pivot to being more turbo focused after rotation

Sorry I am a bit confused by the explanation at 45:38. Cyrus says to abyss seeking with the current board state & then ko garde ex in combo with iono/roxanne on the following turn. Doing so doesn’t deal with their arcana garde which can easily respond on a Giratina vstar. I am struggling to see how this is a winning strategy. (Letting your opponent take 4 prizes with 1 garde) I must be missing something so an explanation will be appreciated.
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
You can clean up the garde later with sableye/cram in combination with a roxanne or iono. You also don't need to ko the garde ex immediately. If you're down in prizes it is incredibly difficult for your opponent to one shot a clean vstar. If you roxanne path when they are at 2 even if you are just starting a comeback it will be quite difficult for the garde player to keep establishing their board.

@sumirsookdeo94438 ай бұрын
Could we run more 3 roaring Moon instead of running Giratina?
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
You could, but then the deck would change to a more turbo lost box type build. There is a popular build of lost zone with roaring moon and iron hands that has been doing well lately.
@andreapozzi70428 ай бұрын
why is mew Vmax a bad match up for tina? don't you just kill the active with the vstar and then work on a sableye pinning 2 mew and than finishing off with the first attack of the vstar?
@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
You can only one shot a clean mew once with Star Requiem, and then if you try and soften a mew then they can Psychic leap. Mew is also almost always going to take a 2 prize lead, even 3 sometimes if they go first since you need to ramp up to 10 in the lost zone

@CiaranTCG8 ай бұрын
I agree, the consistency it adds is too good to pass up
@chrisfair118 ай бұрын
I second. If I can use Tina to Abyss Seek once with a Colress is a huge boon turn 1 or turn 2. (Plus 2 comfey)
@Flyin.8 ай бұрын
Hitting no colress is a huge difference of the outcome in the game, lost vacuum in my opinion is a very solid choice to up the lost zone, forest seal stone is great sometimes and gear is just amazing tbf!
