What are the parts #s for the ones you show at the beginning of the video?

This is the best Lego channel on KZbin right now. I absolutely love that it came back with fresh content. If you keep it as a Lego review series, especially with the podcast banter, this could go on for years. Keep it up.

Wow I appreciate the kind words! I'm glad that you are enjoying these new review videos I've been making. There will be more reviews and cool mods coming soon! I like to change it up every now and then and try new types of content.

I'm glad that Joe Rogan's mod was able to get your train going!!! This set is actually pretty well-made. lego should have considered motorizing it from the get go, or making their own official instructions to motorize it.

I dont now,i am 52j young and grow up with Playmobil now some sets of Lego i like for building and display,i always wanted a train set but i like the old style locomotief and i dont want to pay hundreds of dollars for it and this came out have nothing to do with Harry Potter but i liked the train station en train voor a reasonable price ask it for my birthday and with the rest of my birthday cash buyed new in the box set 60337 for the full train track and power up system and ordered the few missing bricks and an hour ago it was Alive!!! love it ,feels like i am 10j old again hehe , Thank a lot my friend and excuse me for my English i am Dutch from Belgium
@AlphaChadBricks10 ай бұрын
@@christianrogiers176 That's smart that you got the 60337 for the track and parts! It's a good deal compared to buying all the electronics separately. I also don't really like harry potter, but this train set is really nice as it combines the station with a train with multiple cars! And that extra bit of straight track that comes with the harry potter train helps for sure.
@CarlosCoelho1411 ай бұрын
Finally some way to motorize without making the train so different from the original! One question, isn’t the boat weight LEGO part 73090b enough, instead of the coins? Did you try that?
@AlphaChadBricks11 ай бұрын
Great question!!!! I actually own a couple of those weight bricks! They unfortunately don't fit because the technic pin that sticks up from the train motor gets in the way! If it weren't for that pin, it would totally work. It would be nice if this mod was 100% official LEGO parts only, but the Alpha Chad Coins are an official part on MY channel, (part # 42069). Those alpha chad coins could be used for other LEGO creations, so it's always good to have some on hand.

Great Job! I'll have to try this with my 76423 set. Looks like it could be adapted relatively easily to work with the Power Functions system I have. I wish there was a way to motorize the set while keeping all six tender wheels like on the real locomotive, but this is definitely the next best thing.
@AlphaChadBricks3 күн бұрын
Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing that looks different, is the number of wheels on the tender. It's barely noticable though, since it's all black, and this train's gonna be wizzing down the track in a blur

Good video; straight to the point. Got it fitted to my HWE today but added the colour sensor as well to do some coding.
@AlphaChadBricks12 күн бұрын
Oooh nice man, nice use of the color sensor. I own a few of those powered up color sensors, yet haven't used them at all yet! I need to get on that soon :0
@Legoweeland11 күн бұрын
Brilliant tip, the coins. For extra weight you can also add the 2x2x6 weight blocks from the 80's sets
@AlphaChadBricks10 күн бұрын
I actually do own a couple of those weight bricks, but unfortunately they just don't fit, as the technic pin that sticks up from the train motor blocks it. Sooo close! If it would fit, this would be 100% official. The coins really help here, as it's a weighted item that nearly everyone should own at home.

Trying to decide between this and the 2018 one, is this one better for motorising or same same? Some other video showcasing all the variations had the 2018 one sliding off the rails, but not sure if it’s just the implementation.
@AlphaChadBricks10 күн бұрын
This new version is much better than the previous version. This new train station is much nicer, the locomotive has fantastic proportions, you get 2 cars instead of just 1, and it's very easy to motorize. This new version kicks the 2018 version's bum.

@AlphaChadBricks11 ай бұрын
I agree that the other methods do in fact make the tender look disgusting. You can also make those plates dark red if you really want it to look OG, but it's not that noticeable. I actually kinda prefer black plates since they match the black plates of the passenger cars.
