That's what I've been telling all my American and Canadian friends, besides Europe and Australia NZ, Canada and the US, Latin America is another bastion of Christianity and western traditions, Mexicans in general have Spanish European heritage and native American Mexican indigenous heritage, some of us are even straight out of Europe and are European looking. Don't go to Asia like the passport bros, go to Latin America, our cultures are the most similar.

9:26 Bosque de Los Truchas, we caught 10 kilos of rainbow trout there, between 10 people, and we ate them all. What a visit! There are restaurants everywhere that will cook your trout for you, but we opted to wrap ours in aluminum foil with butter, lemon and a little garlic salt, and slow cook them over a very small fire. We made elotes, too, and I was very full of 4 fish, each one weighed 1 kilo. Such a lovely place. So close to my friends in Pachuca. They are the ones who drove me up there. Other friends from Guadalajara came to meet us there. I ate 4 kilos of fish in 2 hours. Everyone else ate the other fish. We ate everything and carried nothing back with us.

There is a lonely road between Queretero and Pachuca that is lonely... and when we traveled it, there was a tope in the middle of nowhere with no warning signs. My future brother-in-law hit that tope at 110 km/hr, and his wife was pregnant... her first child... and she passed out. We were really worried, gotta watch the roads, man. Mother and child were OK.

I'm blaming the YT algorithm for only seeing this video now. I really enjoyed watching this one. I was supposed to go to Hidalgo in 2022 but Omicron had other plans. Now I'm thinking it'll have to get back on the itinerary next year. :) By the way - I giggled when you pronounced pasty in English. I said it that way (Paste-ee) when I was in Cornwall and was met with roaring laughter. Apparently it is pronounced "past-ee" if it is the food item. A "paste-ee" is a nipple covering! 🤦‍♀

I enjoyed the little discussion about the pronunciation of Jalpan. I think it would be common for people to stress the second syllable in Jalpan since many famous Mexican places do stress the second syllable and place an accent there. Examples are Michoacán, Tepoztlán, and Teotihuacán. Jalpan doesn't have the accent so it kind of goes against the grain with stress on the first syllable. I also didn't know that Tenochtitlan also has no accent on the second syllable. I had always called it Tenochtitlán, stressing the last instead of the second. I wonder if Hernán Cortés made the same mistake.

The a haunted trip was very interesting and fun. I to get that intuition and goosebumps around these type of situations. Some of those are Gnomes, trolls and fairies I think. I have that same little troll doll from Germany it's named Minnie or Mickey it has a little tag on it, I think they're for good luck don't really know tho. Can y'all one day do a Tamaulipas vlog, visiting some notable border towns such as Matamoros, Nuevo Progreso, Rio Bravo, Reynosa, and Nuevo Laredo? I live right along the Texas Mexico border in Brownsville, Texas and I visit the border cities in Tamaulipas regularly and it would be cool if y'all came up here to do a video. I really doubt y'all will come up here because it's not as fancy as some of the cities you showcase on your channel and it's a level 4 do not travel zone but nothing has ever happened to me here other than paying a couple of bribes to corrupt transit police officers.
