My last trip (to Mexico for a conference) I brought very simplified natural makeup with a rosy cheek color, then I brought Holika Glitz and just pressed a bit of shine on my eyelids and center of my lips. Loved it. Felt very relaxed

amanda, love the look! i think the reason you were struggling with the lip is because your eyeshadow was very muted, leaning purple, and the lip you tried on (fwee pudding pot) was very bright! the a'pieu tint was super pretty in the end 💗

I agreed but also think the fwee was very orange, and orange (lip/cheek) is really hard to make work with purple (eye). I think a more neutral or pink lip and cheek would have have drawn everything together a bit more

You put me onto the Missha BB Cream and I really love it. I'm lighter than you and I use shade 13, which doesn't have that grey effect that shade 21 does. It's a very good match, for me. Ironically it's the best match I've found, so thank you. Being so fair I often have trouble finding complexion products that match me. As someone very new to base products, having something inexpensive that just works is a big deal.

Bon Voyage and Happy Holidays! Thank you for sharing your travel bag. I’ve mostly stocked doubles of my favourites in several recurring destinations. I need a few ideas for weekend and weeklong getaways.

Have you tried the Dr. Dennis Gross under eye lactic acid? It’s so good.

I liked this concept for a video - what you've selected to pack and then a look from it. I would love to see it taken even further in future: to do, say, three very different looks from a tightly edited make up bag to explore how just a few carefully selected products can be mixed and matched for varied looks, almost like a capsule wardrobe. For me, though, the finished look didn't feel cohesive; the mix of cool and warmer tones was a little jarring. I loved the Surrat eyeshadow initially (the way it made the green in your eyes instantly pop! 🤩), but by the end, it was fighting against the other hues and throwing everything off. Maybe that was just on camera, though, and IRL it worked.
