They have that type of ham in Slovenia also, it is called Pršut. The range of cooked meats and cheeses is amazing. Spectacular views from the viewpoint. The familiarity with the language continues, the restaurant, "Stari Most" means, old bridge. I bet those lilly pads would be spectacular when they are flowering. Good advice regarding the tours for first timers in Montenegro. I think the name of the capital city is pronounced "Podgoritsa" the c in this case is pronounced as "ts", if a c has a little house over the top it is pronounced as "ch". All of the names of those bottled drinks in the outro are exactly the same as in Slovenia only they refer to tham as differnt types of fruit brandies, our particlar favourtie are Borovnice which is Bluberry. I think some of those in the jars might be picked mushrooms. "Domača" means home made. I am loving Montenegro so far.

13:32 St Stefan is one whole luxurious hotel suites as well as a churches where Our (Balkan) famous tennis player had his wedding (by Christian Ortodox rules, you cannot divorce if married in church or holy place by Priest). And Njegos was NOT a KING, he was yet monacrched to become a Duke, then if he'd chosen to be King he would may do his duties; History yet remembers him as famous for his educational efforts on literacy (his most famous works were Gorski vijenac, Luca Mikrokozma) and some other things surrounding his untimely death... There is a famous saying he said where to be buried (there in the shot you have one higher ground at 06:10 to the right) He said:" There's no need to be there, that place belongs to someone greater". By our ideology, 2 metres high never meant enough if you were unable to handle it..

Besides ain't really sure about the information Slavko gave you, that 60℅ of Montenegro is seen from the top of Lovćen... Also Lovćen is not really the top of Montenegro, in the north you have even more extreme mountains such as Durmitor and Prokletije.

Am I right in thinking that , traditionally, prosciutto is not smoked at all, but dry-cured? I must say also that your Montenegran hosts are not as generous as your Albanian victuallers. The spreads you were given in Albania almost covered the whole table.
@gerardfernon33393 жыл бұрын
Oops! Montenegrin, not Montenegran.
@JetLagWarriors3 жыл бұрын
Darn, you're right! Its not smoked at all, it's dry cured. I will say it tastes smokey though, not sure what that is from. It seems a big difference between Albania and Montenegro is Montenegro is much more commonly travelled. So, we weren't interacting with locals as much as tour guides. It's a different experience, but both are great, depending on your travel style
@gerardfernon33393 жыл бұрын
@@JetLagWarriors Your taste buds are vindicated, Steve. Apparently the most delish prosciutto of Montenegro is lightly smoked after all. Well spotted. I see what you mean about the two styles of tourism. In Albania you would sometimes stay in mum and dad places where they fed you like family. In Montenegro it's more like tour-consumerism. It's like everyone has a degree in business.
