I was born with club feet, deaf in both ears, and border line retardation. I made the transition from all of this to walking straight, hearing for the first time at the age of 12 years old, the hardest was learning what everyone takes for granted, even the simplest things in life. I did it, I rose above all of this when doctors and specialist said I wouldn't get past grade 3, and that I would need to be taken care of when I'm adult. With a lot, and I mean a lot of hard work to get to where I am today, was a lot of hard work. To make that transition from slow learner to leader, being an example to others, and encouraging them to do it, that they can do it too.

I was at the point of giving up on everything. I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. Then I started trying to find something, anything to give me some kind of hope that I could have something to live for. This was the inspiration and kick in the ass I needed. This video gave me chills. I want to be a fighter pilot, and about four years ago, I had no chance at all. I had no middle school or high school education. I had a very bad time, I was in survival mode, living off of a garden I grew for food, and chickens a neighbor gave me for helping with their yard. It was winter, no power, snowing out, when I took a shower, the floor of the shower cracked with ice, and the water was so cold that I pulled muscles from the uncontrolled shivering. I got sick, a neighbor helped me get better, then took me to a mental health center. My interview with a therapist resulted in him giving me a card for a GED center. Eventually I got power back, internet, then messaged the GED center, then that neighbor started taking me there (she had nothing else better to do). After a few months, I got my GED, started working next door on a construction site, then my boss taught me how to drive, gave me advice about college, then the following Christmas, he bought me an old car, after I got my drivers license. I got into a junior college, struggled through math, then got very good with English and some other classes, and graduated five semester later. Not, I am on my first semester at a university, attacking Aerospace Engineering, while in the Air Force ROTC program. My GPA is currently a 3.24. I am struggling with Chemistry and Trig, but am slowly learning what I need to in order to get ahead. The entire time, I have had many put me down, tell me I will never make it, and will never be a fighter pilot, that it is too hard, that I am not smart enough, that I will fall flat on my face. When I was in middle school (was taken out not even half way through the first semester because of bad teachers), the teacher told me I will end up on the streets holding a sign for food, or whatever. What got me here is the advice given to me by those who cared. The advice I got was to take steps, to learn every class as as much as I possibly could. Because if I don't take steps, I will stay on the ground, and never make it to the sky. What I did so far was climb out of a basement, and have climbed up a few levels. Now I can see that I have a very good change to be a fighter pilot, to make my dreams come true, and to prove those fuckers who put me down wrong. What keeps me going is knowing that others told me I would never make it in to a college, or would never graduate. Knowing I have graduated has proven to myself that I can do it, and now I am striving for the top. The ammo to my will is proving wrong those who told me I can't. Tell me I can't do something, and watch me prove them wrong by doing it. I won't let those fuckers tell me it can't be done, because I did it, and am doing it. The sky is the limit, and beyond that is space, and there are no limits in space.

Damn, I was watching this in 2016, after I had to spend a year prepping for an exam I had failed twice before. I passed that exam in flying colours. Now I'm here again because I'm gearing up for a beast of an exam with a 50% pass rate in a week and I'm just burnt out now. I haven't had a holiday in 11months and it's starting to show. The prep for this exam has truly wrecked my mental health, I just don't care anymore and have started self sabotaging. I am a traffic accident survivor. I had been previously ignored, even ridiculed, when I had raised Safety issues. Then while crossing the road to work, I was hit by a speeding car, on an unlighted pedestrian crossing. Initially wholly covered by a sheet, than a week unconscious and at Death's Door in Intensive Care and over a year of rehab and still on the road to recovery. But there shall be No Surrender! Never! Man, there are a zillion motivational videos out there and I've listened to a shit ton of them. THIS though, this is the one that I play first thing in the morning. This is the one that really lifts me up...makes my heart pound and tears come to my eyes. It's really not just a video that I like, it's a fucking game changer. I love how at about 0:30-1:30, it explains how we are afraid of what people think but when we are alone we are able to be ourselves. We all do it unconsciously; We worry about whether you look good or what the person next to you will think about what you are doing at any moment. It's hard to shake it because image to any extent is what psychologically controls society and I don't know about the rest of you but I absolutely hate it. I try so hard to overcome all of that bullshit and I encourage everyone to do so as well.

Il video è una bomba atomica, ma consiglio di realizzarne un'altro uguale ma in lingua italiana. Per quanto possa essere bella la lingua inglese, niente al mondo motiva più della propria lingua. A riguardarlo... a me i sottotitoli non piacciono. Il fatto che si legga, razionalizza il cervello e si perde l'epicità del video. Si perde il phatos delle voci, delle immagini, diventa tutto troppo razionale e si rischia di concentrarsi troppo sul concetto in sé della frase, perdendo quello che il video vuole lasciare, perdendo la carica. Devo proprio tenerli sti sottotitoli? Non lo so... sono davvero tremendi. Piuttosto vi faccio io un corso d'inglese accelerato... Ma è uno stupro al mio lavoro aver inserito i sottotitoli... Ditemi voi. Io penso che tolgano tantissimo di ciò che lascia il video senza nessun sottotitolo.

it sometimes bores me that in these videos you usually see athletes. for me it's always easier to physically power through any workout (and i'm not that athletic) that doesn't even matter to me, than to sit on my fucking desk and do the work i am really afraid of, the work that really threatens my feeling of self worth and triggers all the anxiety about my future i can imagine. most people aren't athletes. just workers. who have to fight through college and ordinary daily stuff. sometimes getting up alone is a struggle for me. of course motivational music with showing a guy getting up isn't very powerful :P but still..

They follow very specific routines, goals and plans and they follow them through pain and disappointment. All the way to the top. If any person were to follow the same dedication and constant striving, they would ultimately achieve success in any field or endeavour. The same methodology works in every aspect of life.

I feel you clearly Knight. I am currently working on a program that will achieve this transfer of these principles to those who feel they cant relate and are not "athletes". It is extremely important to know that these "super athletes" are more often ( 95%) just really normal people who put these principles into life constantly and with unwavering faith. I hope this is of some help.
