Then Part 3 (Tiers 5 & 6) and finally Part 4 (Tiers 7 & 8) in due time. Those parts are much more deep and fascinating. 2:50 The expansion pak at least came bundled with DK64. Some other potential ideas for the iceberg: -N64 game decomp projects -Cremia hug 50% chance -0th Day/4th Day in Majora's Mask Random observation I made: The part-timer who works at the Trading Post in Majora's Mask mentions to Zora Link that he's working part-time since he's in a band that isn't making much money. You can see him in a tree in Termina Field trying to get some red rupees during the day. He says he stole the rupees from a crow... Possibly the same crow that circles Clock Town and is "fond of musical instruments" (according to a gossip stone) and will drop rupees for you if you play songs for it, implying he played music for the crow so it would drop rupees. He could possible be referring to the Takkuri as well, although he's not too close to it... Though it would play into him taking rupees from his boss, since the Takkuri brings the Trading Post/Curiosity Shop owner stolen items.

I have two comments, first I remember someone saying that "L is Real" is actually a misreading of "Eternal Star," which makes a lot of sense if you look at it. There's also something funny about the paths in Star Fox 64, some of the hidden paths lead to areas where you can meet new characters, and it's possible to go from one of those areas back towards the easy path, and the new characters will follow you there, so you can play the same level with a new character sometimes.

So I think Nintendo wanted to add Luigi to Mario 64 but the console's limitations meant they had to scrap him. I am convinced the sign in the courtyard says "Eternal star" just with some bad font kerning. The number 2401 means nothing and was just created because if it wasn't, the idea the sign actually says L is real falls apart. The fact the sign is for a statue of a star would seem to support the idea it's talking about the star. Plus you can see the second character in "star" is taller than the others, which works for the word "star" but not for the number 2401. Also the same texture was reused for a sign in OoT (clearly without an intent to be readable) are we gonna say Luigi was confirmed for that game as well?

@@urmasterjohn it happens every time you load the game. If you play too long in 1 session, the game will crash. There is a very in depth YT video on this topic. It didn't take me long to brick my cheat cartridge Equalizer for the N64 back in those days. I was trying to get Banjo Kazooie to play and I think it was due to selecting a game on the list I didn't have. I thought the default expansion pack was 4mb, I didn't know it was empty and was actually built-in the system itself. Some fascinating stuff here.
@Yubl1011 ай бұрын
My guess as to why the Luigi model was made for Mario 64. I believe that it's a leftover from the very early days of the games development back when the game was just Mario and Luigi on a big flat plain. At that time, the camera was fixed in one place ( something that you can still activate with a game shark ) and Mario and Luigi could run around freely but once they started putting objects and non flat terrain in the world they realized that it wouldn't work and scrapped the idea until decades later when they made Mario 64 on the DS. Basically, Mario 64 was going to have a two player mode with Luigi early on, but it got scrapped.

Love the video and fireside ambience as always, Goose. One thing i miss about the N64 era of gaming was all the urban legends because the internet wasn't as prevalent as it is today, and people weren't deep diving into games' codes to discover every little thing so some kid said there was a Sky Temple or whatever in Ocarina of Time and everyone went nuts doing all sorts of nonsensical things to try to unlock this secret. On the topic of the N64 kiosks, I don't remember those but I remember Blockbuster and I think K-Mart (R.I.P to them both) having a Sega Saturn with games like Bug, Panzer Dragoon and Nights.
