***** For most people, he helped introduce them to the world of video games. Including me. I have great respect for him. And i am not saying that i knew him personally, but if one of your favorite celebrities died, wouldn't you want to pay some sort of tribute for them? For instance, when Robin Williams died, people all over America went back to watch the movies he stared in, like Aladdin and Good Will Hunting. I personally did not do that, but i understood that people need to grieve in some way or another. This was a way for me to grieve, not for losing a friend, but for losing someone so influential to the gaming industry that we know today. And, by the way, I am not giving you hate, i'm just trying to explain why i did that. Thank you for reading this comment (if you did :P)

Some people don't count subdivisions and Mario and LOZ are the main two that come to mind, for example, when people think of pokemon they think of niantic despite it's origins on nintendo devices. Don't hate me, I'm a massive gamer and I agree, but I'm trying to play devil's advocate.

That's another great point. Mario isn't only jump, run and beat Bowser. There is Mario Kart, Mario Party, 3D Mario games, Dr. Mario, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, and so. Even characters born in Mario have their own franchises and sub-games, like Yoshi or Wario. Same goes with Link in the 3 timelines, the different gameplays, the Tingle games and so.

I am too old to play video games. I bought Pong for my TV in the 1970's and I bought a Commodore 64 in 1985. I played a lot of the early games and heard a lot of the early games music. I put away these things in 1990 when I was 40 years old. It is nice to hear some of these tunes again and some of them are new to me as well.

Of all the medleys I’ve heard on KZbin over the years, this one still stands out to me. The variety of songs is astounding and the expression from these strings create a depth that I haven’t heard anywhere else.
