I ask this every time but can you make an engine where the turbo does NOT explode at any rpm so you can leave some extra rpm after the peak power before rpm limit so the engine could actually be used? If the peak power comes at 7100 and rev limit is 7100 you can never use the power. If you have some room after the peak you can rev slightly past it, then shift to sligthly below and hit peak power before the next shift. What I would like to see is a wannabe 80s F1 1.5 liter turbo engine using 2020 tech. Cylinder count can be any but they used between 4 and 8 cyl and single or twin turbos. Direct injection didn't exist so maybe use multipoint injection and they used basically rocket fuel so DevMeth. Thank you

Leaded fuels might do the trick. But unfortunately leaded fuels have lowered the average intelligence of the world since it's introduction and subsequent ban. It doesn't take much of the leaded compounds added to fuel to dramatically increase the compression at which combustion takes place. The reason leaded fuels were developed was because fuels at the time combusted under compression to easily which causes random detonations and vibrations.

yes, but ethanol is even better. I assume you come from latest Veritasium video, lead was chosen because it was cheap to produce. Ethanol has even better properties (fuel-wise), won't make you dumb and these days is not that expensive. Many race cars use ethanol, because they are running crazy comp rates with turbos, so they need to be sure it won't detonate early. Also, squeezing that extra 2HP and 0.8% efficiency on a race car can make tenths of a second difference, which can be difference between podium or grass. This engine reminds me a lot of mid 2000-s VAG turbodiesel cars, which have similar power curve (not that ridiculous lol) as far as boost/rpm goes. As OP mentioned, they usually don't "go down" at the end of RPM limiter, creating nasty lag if you release clutch too fast (not mentioning the wear), and because they are diesels, you basically go from 4500RPM which is almost your limit to like 2000, where your turbo is beginning to spool up. Having that little overhang at the end might be super nice for techniques like short shifting or left foot braking (basically both boils down to having your turbo constantly spooled up, riding that maximum power peak constantly).

@@n3ttx580 ethanol burns cleaner than gasoline. However it takes more fuel and produces different chemicals. So there is a trade off. Tetraethyl lead however is what was added to gas mixtures to make the leaded gasoline that was used in vehicles that caused the planet to lose IQ points overall. To clarify I wasn't specifically talking about leaded gasoline. Imagine tetraethyl lead used experimentally in another fuel. You could theoretically make your own combination.

Cool peak numbers for the sticker on the showroom floor. But worthless when 80% of the rpm range you have a 400hp engine, that has a momentary bi polar psychotic episode just before you reach red line. Lose 10-20% of your peak numbers to get a torque curve that starts at 3-4000 rpm and is actually usable. But that doesn’t make for as good of a thumbnail 🤷‍♂️

The way I think of it is like you have 2 engines. A 400 horsepower engine for your normal cruising and the ridiculous one when you want to tempt death. Irl there would have to be a system that locks out the Rev ranges from each other. Not letting it go below the turbo range for sport/death mode and below the turbo rpm range for normal use. It's unreasonable but a dude can dream

A channel called “Forgotten mustard” made a video on how to do it about a month ago. To summarize, you’re not actually swapping the 3D model, but just changing the text and audio files of one of the existing BeamNG engines to those of the Automation engine. You edit the engine braking values and torque curve text files along with other values. It’s not a sexy procedure, but also not too difficult. The torque curve is literally stored like this in text. RPM : torque 1000:100 2000:120 3000:140 And so on.

There's no stress because there's no back pressure from the exhaust system. The exhaust is designed to create back pressure which equals torque to the ground through the drivetrain. If the gases can freeflow out of the motor the motor has no resistance and therefore produces less power through the drivetrain. Try it with a 2.5inch or 3 inch exhaust and watch it blowup.

devmeth 195 is a mod. Social credibility loss (-1000). Also forget making it realistic at all lol 1 liter per cylinder is absolutely bound to cause problems. Why not do what koenigsegg did and make a 2.0 NA inline 3 do 600hp off 91 octane. They didn’t use VVT either.

Devmeth is a feature in the beta version of automation. Koenigsegg’s 3 cylinder engine isn’t Naturally Aspirated, it’s twin turbocharged. The engine also doesn’t run on 91 octane, it runs on E85. The engine also has free valve technology which renders VVT obsolete because the valves are controlled by pneumatic actuators.
