Noticed when you had a little chop on the water, trolling worked pretty good. When the chop fell off, bite on moving baits {trolling} also dropped off. Jig and minna saved your butt. Great content, and yes, it hurts to lose a good'un. Lucky you still have this great fall weather, not going to last forever.

I love your walleye vids, Clayton. Question for you - leadcore line versus snap weights - do you stay away from snap weights when fishing solo just because it's awkward unclipping the weight? Or just prefer leadcore? Cheers my dude.

Hey Clayton, great video. What depth would you run cranks this middle to late fall? I live in SE North Dakota and we mainly just use jigs and Lindy rigs with minnows, maybe crawlers under and around bridges this time of year. Thanks.

It honestly depends on the lake. Every lake is so different :(. I like that 20-30 feet though in a lot of lakes.
@jam1324

Drive around a bit, what ever depth you see the fish at is where you want your lures running.

Hey Clayton! I know you don’t use mega live anymore but I was just wondering if you had any setting preferences when you used it? In terms of sense, contrast etc. just picked up a helix 9 live imaging bundle today and can’t wait for the ice season! Now I’ve gotta wait at least 2 months 😢😂!

Every lake was very different with it. It is also different from unit to unit I find and then when you do updates it all changes too. Best advice I can give you is to play with it when you first get out there :). (I also can’t remember my settings from it at all lol)

It doesn’t do much good to run more than 120’ back. You get a big bow in your line. 200’ back won’t be as deep as 120’.

@ClaytonSchickOutdoors If you've got a small electronic scale, you could weigh it or ask the post office to do it for you. That could be useful information for future trolling crankbaits. I'm just thinking out loud, with you. As always, thanks for your reply.
