Ghost writing TIP: If you cannot tell. Look for the pen / pensile. It vanishes after the ghost wrights in the book. You should be able to see this from a distance as well.

As someone still dwelling in the tier one gear sub-basement. The writing is a nightmare to see. Usually listen for the scribbling sound. Although did have a coop player BETTING that there would be no writing whilst in the truck… Then in perfect view of the camera over his shoulder, on the truck monitor the book tilted up and doodled behind him… Phasmo makes for proper funny, unscripted moments! I’m in love with this game! Haha

I played for two sessions before I learned you need to place the book down, not just drop it. So if you are totally new to the game: placing an item is not the same as dropping an item.

From what I have experienced on console was that my money has been disappearing. I looked in stats and it said I have spent 4k!!!!!!. I have only bought 4 flashlights and a motion sensor. I was thinking how I spent 4k having only spent not even 200 dollars but I found out that every time you interact with the Wooden block tower it buys something from the the store. I looked and I had 29 D.O.T.S projectors. I looked it up and I found a Reddit post talking about the same glitch so I recommend people on console to avoid the wooden blocks.

What is no evidence?

@@greengroot2299 no evidence is a difficulty more advanced players play (usually by setting it up in the custom difficulty section) that removes all evidence of the ghost. Which means you will never get any form of evidence making you have to rely solely on ghost behavior, abilities, and or hunting traits. Its a very tricky challenge as most things are very subtle and easy to miss, but it is a lot of fun to really test your knowledge on the mechanics of the game!

@@greengroot2299 a custom difficulty where ghosts do not show any evidence (other than mimic orbs) and you need to figure out the ghost based on it's behaviour, activity levels, hunting speeds etc

Things that are helpful that no one talks about: 1. You can ask a ghost to use an item, if it can it will do it. 2. Ghosts will attempt to interact with items they can't use. If you set up dots in a room with a Mare it can get stuck on trying to use the dots instead of writing in the book. causing nothing to happen for a long time. If you know the potential ghosts cannot use the items or it gave the evidence Remove Those Items From The Room! It will give evidence faster. 3. If low sanity and you think the last evidence is UV, close all the doors in the house, and hide for a hunt. After the hunt run through the house with a black light. If it doesn’t leave any UV after opening a bunch of doors it probably isn’t UV. 4. Besides Yurie and Goryo all ghosts have a way to identify what it is, with no evidence. Look up what makes them unique to help you identify ghosts that are being a pain.

I have so much more i wish i could say in the video but pushing the guide up to an hour was already a stiff take as i didn’t want to overwhelm the new players but those are all good tips! although for #4 technically every ghost can be identified by an ability for example a yurei can “double touch a door” it does so in the later part of the video when i take them through their first investigation. its also the only ghost who can interact with the “front door” of a level outside of a hunt or event. As for goryo his ability is trash however, it will never change ghost rooms so if you are doing a no evidence run and its been like 30 minutes and you have nothing else but the fact that it has not changed its favorite ghost room it could be a Goryo (of course this one is a little more up to chance) I plan on doing a Ghost Guide video which will breakdown every piece of evidence, abilities, and quirks of each ghost in phasmo, its gonna be another big video but hopefully all of you can find some utility out of it. @@MrSiick Yurei's ability to slam a door. I can count on my hand the number of times it has happened to me. They need to give it a different ability or give it a different group of abilities. There was an update where it would SLAM all the doors in the room it was in if there was a door. They changed to if a Yurei interacts with a door it will always close it. Both were an instant “It’s a Yurei.” The current ability is that it has the same chance as all other ghosts to touch doors and move them slowly. But if it has a small chance to close the door. As a result, the ability has become a unicorn. They should change it to prioritize electronic interactions like the Banshee does singing. Since Sadako and Kayako are Yurei.

@@MusicaX79 yeah i agree it is pretty rare to see again i got lucky and happened to have caught it when i took them through their first investigation (the door was fully open and i heard it touch the door and i turned around and saw it fully closed, i was able to confirm my suspicions when i heard it double touch the door with the paramic) i think at some point they will probably revamp the ghosts and make them a bit more unique! Maybe in the horror 2.0 update that they are planning on releasing (probably next Halloween)

@@marc-andrelachapelle5707 voice recognition does not work for console players yet meaning you can't talk with the ghost you need to use text to speech in order to get evidence like spirit box or used certain cursed possessions. however, the devs do plan on releasing it at some point. as it stands the only thing you can do is use in game voice chat to talk to players.

I just got the game on ps5 the other day and looked up some guides, and while they helped there were a lot of things missing from them, especially confirming evidence. The big three that I really didn't know for sure what to look for were ghost orbs, dots, and spirit box (I knew if they responded it was confirmed, but didn't know if the red dot meant that for sure.) @@MrSiick how do we find the ghost room faster? but still we got like 9 ghosts right in a row without a single hunt starting

@@Misterbuz depends on the map, if its a smaller map i like to bring EMF and temps and just go room to room checking temps looking for anything colder then usual (around 65F or 18C) ill have someone else run a quick sweep with a camera as well if im playing with more than one player, just to check for ghost orbs which can also be a quick way to find the ghost although its not reliable as some ghosts just don’t have that evidence. The EMF reader just comes in handy if it touches something and I’m not sure what i can switch to that and turn it on and look around. If you are playing on a large map you can always try using a parabolic microphone to listen for ghost whispers or an item being thrown etc… this can help you narrow your search to one section of the map! You can always use the same tactic i do on the small maps on the large ones too i just prefer the paramic. Hope that helps!

About hunts and events 23:00 , a surefire way to tell between an event and a hunt is the lights. If the light switches off completely or turns red in the room you hear the sounds, it’s an event. If it simply flickers, it’s a hunt and you should evacuate expeditiously. Secondary tip: when you figure out what type of ghost you have, don’t leave immediately. One way or another, you have to get a feel for what footsteps sound like in varying conditions. With the exception of a mimic, you should always attempt to at least hear the ghosts footsteps during a hunt. This allows you to either get a baseline for ghost speed to differentiate in the future if a ghost is really not riding the evidence train, or be able to hear the differences in speed in the case of a movement speed based ghost (Revenant, Hantu, Raiju, moroi, thaye) Final thing: don’t be afraid to die. Death is but a temporary set back on a MASSIVE learning curve. I’m only level 50-something because i started playing on playstation but i learned the games nuance through watching other people play. You aren’t going to be tuned in instantly, no matter how many hours you watch. Just play the game, experience it at your pace and have fun with it. Don’t let anyone else tell you how to play the game. Good luck hunters 🫶❤

Its a great tip about hunts honestly i play with power off at the start in all my runs so i forgo / never noticed that you can use the lights flickering to know a hunts coming! Well that and i usually run 0 second grace period. 😂

@ i’ve been gathering more and more intel since running my setup of 5.77 1 evidence runs. Starting with the breaker on is a BIG help on some maps, saves you nearly 10% sanity when finding the ghost room. I could never do 0 grace periods lmao i tend to have poor positioning and it leads to me exploding more often than i would care to admit. I’ve also been coaching a lot of my friends in the game. I threw a buddy of mine who had 30 mins logged and was a level 2 into a nightmare game which was… interesting 😂. I could make a whole list of little useful tips that don’t include finding out the ghost type. And one thing i forgot to add, there is one ghost event sound for each gender ghost model that can never be a hunting sound. For females, it’s ring around the rosie, and for males its a low humming tune that is quite distinguishable from normal hunting sounds. De-linking that to “oh damn gotta blast” and linking it to “oo, photoshoot time” makes ‘capture a photo of the ghost’ that little bit easier.

Hey it takes time for everyone to get over the spooks if phasmo but it will happen. As long as you are contributing, even from the van, then you are still a member of the team! @ its a long a video and honestly when i go through guides i do the same thing. Thats why i added the chapters, to help people jump around for what they need. I just wanted to cover LITERALLY everything in one video so people could always come back for whenever they want to know more. Its all relative to what you want or need to know to help you enjoy the game! I know most people get to the 12-14 minute mark and leave (yeah youtube totally outs you guys) but that’s exactly why I said at that point you have everything you need in the video. Thats because truly everything else is optional after that. But It will make your life far easier, and go smoother knowing the deogens ability or how mimics work but you don’t technically “need” it to actually play i just highly recommend it. 😂

Fun Fact about the mimic: Mimics like to spam the absolute hell out of ghost orbs. Not sure why, outside of their native behavior, but if you constantly see ghost orbs, that's when the sus meter should be hitting red.

@MrSiick Not a problem, but it's still important to test other forms of evidence first, for the uninitiated. It's just one of those things where you can absolutely tell, given enough time. To put it to words, ghost orbs have a somewhat slow frequency; mimics, however, tend to show them at a quick and constant pace. ... And for that reason, I absolutely love video cameras. Lol

The range of the crucifixes do match the range of the spirit boxes! Both the tier 1 of those objects have a range of 3 meters tier 2 is 4 meters tier 3 is 5 meters So you can definitely use that to get an idea if thats helpful for you!

Tip to console players, swap your front bumpers (L1 and R1) with your back bumpers (L2 and R2) respectively. This allows you to use your journal while hiding. Edit: people also hate you for triggering global chat over and over Also I keep seeing voice chat doesn’t work on spirit box, but I’ve almost exclusively used voice chat to get spirit box replies in solo since console release? My recommended starting tools are video camera (better light than flashlight and sees ghost orbs), thermometer, and dots (or picture camera for blood moon)

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned it or not but there are a few small errors in this guide that I should point out. 1.) Ghost Writing Book. If the ghost has this evidence and writes in it, it CANNOT close or toss the book afterwards. I've never seen this happen. And just to be sure, checked Wiki and I was correct. 2.) Ghost Orbs. Ghost Orbs never disappear for a time and respawn. They are always floating in the ghost's favorite room as early as loading in the investigation map. When they do float, they do a tiny vanish and reload the floating animation but that is only a second or so. Also, the orbs might float inside an object or through a wall but will always return. 3.) Spirit Box. You need to remember the 3 rules. Rule #1: Lights have to be off in the same room. Rule #2: You have to be in the same room as the ghost and close. Rule #3: In multiplayer, ghosts can respond a bit differently. Some will only answer if your alone, some will only answer with others in the same room. Very important to check the "RESPONDS TO" in your journal. Other then that, great video, guys!

The video is amazing for beginners and professionals but there's 2 things I want to add. 1. Tier 1 thermometer (any thermometers in general) will never fluctuate below or at 0 degree celcius (32 degree Fahrenhiet) if there is no freezing evidence. 2. It is easier to use 'window' voice recognition and double click windows button if the game doesn't register your voice when using the spirit box. (idk about console tho).

You’re correct freezing evidence (if using a tier 1 thermo) does count if the ambient temperature ever hits 0C or 32F where as (and this is according to the wiki) using tier 2 & 3 thermometer if you reach anything below 1C or 33.8F that also counts as evidence as whenever the ghost wanders it will always drop the room temperature but only to 1C/33.8F if freezing temps is not an evidence! As for using windows voice recognition i always used vosk as you have to setup your mic in windows and have it set to default in order for it to work whereas vosk allows you to switch manually between different microphones but i have definitely noticed some issues with voice recognition (as was filmed in the video) when switching between text and vosk and in just in general my other friend i stream with always has a hard time with vosk so maybe ill have him test that out and see if it works better! Unfortunately console is stuck with only text options for evidence and cursed possession’s but the devs say they will be implementing voice recognition. They will of course have in-game voice chat. Thanks for commenting though those are 2 great points and a little Oopsie on my end!

Super helpful guide for someone like me who has played some on PC back when the game was in its infancy, and is now on console with tools I've never seen before! One thing I REALLY hope the devs add/enable is that when the ghost responds through talk box, the voice should come from the PS5 controller. Would just elevate its creepiness to an absolute 10

@ i love demonologist! Its just best taken in doses as it relies almost too heavily on jump scares… but it is a fantastic ghost hunting game! As far as horror 2.0 I wouldn’t hold your breath id honestly expect but earliest by next Halloween but thats probably being generous. But i dont know maybe with console release they will be able to spend some of that new money on expanding the company and make the updates much more frequent!

There is a huge amount of mechanics in this game, but don’t get overwhelmed with it. Just learn the basics before you touch curse possessions, as you start to get more comfortable and you start getting the ghost correct more often you can start to learn more of what the game has to offer! As a new player I thought I would be slick and set up two dots, two cameras, and 4 motion sensors. Chilled in the truck watching and waiting saw the motion sensors go off without any dots. And you know what. The ghost was the one that you need to use the camera and dots to see and I totally didn't see anything. 10/10 I went back to playing DBD.

This helps A LOT. This is the only tutorial I've found that has given a good look into this game and gives beginners the information we need. I know they have tutorials for how to use the ghost hunting items, but i wish they had a tutorial on how to use the cursed items and how to play so people can kinda get the idea of how it will be in game. Also, I played on ps5, and i didn't see a photo camera. Is this something I have to purchase?. Thank you for the help!! 👍🏽

Thank you so much! I am glad you found it helpful! I really did try to incorporate as much as possible without being too overwhelming! Also to answer your question the photo camera is an optional piece of equipment that unlocks at level 3! You will have to purchase it and bring it along with you in each investigation as only the core evidence can’t be removed and thus is always brought. I always bring one so I make sure to set it up in my quick loadouts! I hope that helps!

I wouldn’t mind at all! So what happened there was the ghost did what is known as a Ghost Ball event, and the Oni will never do a ghost ball, so if you or your friends experience that particular event you can immediately rule out Oni!
