To echo the author, Modge Podge and good quality PVA is amazing for traditionally hard to paint surfaces like soft plastic. Give the figure or whole terrain piece a coat and it will not obscure detail, leaving a great primed surface for painting.

I think mod podge is much more affordable in the North American continent than it is in Aussie land. I like the matt version but I think it might just be a very good quality pva.

Hmm perhaps. It is more than white glue, but not by a lot. In Canada we can get the small bottle in our dollar stores for$1.00

Woah! For some reason it never occurred to me to use Mod Podge. I even have some for paper crafting. Probably way better than White Glue for MDF as well> I am gonna find out. Thanks alot for the tip!

Modge Podge (Yes I know I'm spelling it wrong) really is the wonder tool. For rivers I prime the river by brush then paint layers with the airbrush. For water effects I then thin Gloss Modge Podge and spray it through the airbrush (I use a Harbor Freight automobile airbrush-20 bucks)-Yes you can spray glue through an airbrush. I have only started using it in the last 5 years or so but have already gone through 2 gallons of it. The gallon is the best price and you can get. Modge Podge is more than a PVA, I forget why but there is something that makes it more than a PVA. I think the Terrain Tutor covered it in his Modge Podge video...Or was it Black Magic Craft? I forget, anyway check 'em all out. You can even make this stuff yourself, there is a video... but I wouldn't. Even if you only buy the little 3oz bottle, just buy some Modge Podge. It'll change your life.

The amount of products( non familiar names) that gamers could use from a Hardware or Art shop will save you HALF the amount of dollars buying from a leading Gamer aimed company. Tools , paints , glue , boards , brushes all lower priced than that Model company or wargamer brand
