@@MilesProwerStudios78 Well mostly (ignoring fetish related things) because of the question how to draw these characters bare feet and or in sandals when the story calls for it For example In AoStH did we get the toes shown while Sonic was on a beach and to show off the laying on the beach look with a character there wears as little as Sonic did there remove his shoes for it. In the games is mostly because Tikal and Big were designed with sandals And one reason the debate around this got heated recently is because in Forces does the number of toes seemingly changed based on the foot wear as in some sandals its the classic no toes look while in others its a 2 toes design and as a last example in the Archie comics did we get the full human like toes for things like falling out of bed gag. And so if fan artist want to include any scene that involved showing any of there characters feet does always the question of how to depict them pop up like it did for the designers is the above named examples in official media.

The ARK contained a Master Emerald shrine, the Bolizard was the prototype ultimate life form, sharing a somewhat similar shape to Perfect Chaos. Shadow, the ultimate result of the project resembles Super Sonic's silhouette. Gerald studied the Emeralds, knew about the Master Emerald, created a prototype resembling Perfect Chaos before his final result resembled Super Sonic. It's entirely possible the murals were his basis for the designs, after trying to replicate the supposed God of Destruction he could've been inspired by the mural of Super when making Shadow. Not saying it's true but the pieces are there for it to make sense and Shadow being based on the mural of Super is certainly a better explanation for why the ultimate lifeform resembles the super form of a being who wouldn't exist for another 35 years and happens to have almost the same power set, being a random coincidence. Neither Amy or Silver (the only other canon hedgehogs I'm aware of) have the same kind of speed or ability set as Sonic and Shadow in the mainline games. As far as we know, the super speed (on Sonic and Shadow level) is not an inherent trait of hedgehogs in that universe. The mural was indeed a prophecy but SA2 and Shadow also feature the Artificial Chaos enemies. Gerald was trying to make Chaos, that is a fact, he recreated the Master shrine, debatably based the Biolizard on Perfect Chaos and Shadow happens to be an artificial version of the other Chaos powered being depicted in the prophetic murals on Angel Island which Gerald had to have known of to some extent. SA deals with the actual prophecy, SA2 could be said to be dealing with a man made attempt to copy it on several levels. Even if true, doesn't make Sonic the ultimate life form, but a prophetic mural of his Chaos powered form simply happened to inspire Gerald's final design.

The first 3D Sonic games were (maybe) Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R, both of which received mixed reception. Both of these games were weird spin-offs in a time when the Sega Saturn desperately needed a mainline 3D Sonic game, because Sonic X-Treme was canned due to going through hardcore development hell. I don't know why people say Sonic had a good transition to 3D, Sonic Adventure came out 4 years and almost an entire console generation after Mario 64, and all attempts before that had failed to compete with Nintendo. Whether or not you like the Adventure games, the transition to 3D was undoubtedly rocky.

Small note, Regarding the hyper form, it Is actually canon. as we seen in sonic mania (which takes place after sonic 3 & knuckles and before sonic mania in a alternative universe). Takashi Iizuka has never stated the form to be canon or not, just that it never appeared again because it wasn't necessary. We know hyper is stronger than super, but even the 2 most powerful enemies sonic faced in canon ( solaris and eggwizard) were taken down by super forms.
