Just for the record,I'm in my mid forties,and Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite iteration of the stories and character as well. Plus,instead of the ongoing convoluted train wreck that the original was,the Ultimate Clone Saga was an excellent climax and a logical culmination of everything that happened up to that point.

The Ultimate Spider-Man game is awesome because of the cutscenes and transitions that are straight out of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Another reason for that is how the storyline sets up on a small scale which is different than how Comic movie adaptations use the original source material. You make a good point on why amazing Spider-Man 2 failed badly while Spider-Man 2 progressed beautifully. Other than that, Ultimate Spider-Man was the best game I've ever played.

I missed out on this game when it came out because I am not an Ultimate fan, so I had no interest. I wish I had, or at least, added it to my collection when it was originally out so I could have tackled it now.
