You know you just LOVE TIG welding when instead of just making a new gasket, with a smaller hole in the center, you instead do a bunch of TIG welding, then machining to get the drain back to flat again... hey LT, you need a MILLING machine now as you could have milled that gasket surface flat in just a minute or so... and you would have one more machine to use instead of making a new gasket! I'm just ribbing you man.. I'm just like you.. I would always rather weld and machine a part then take the simple way out.

@@eldonblack5976 You talking to me, or LT? If me, I have a BUNCH of machining equipment-specifically 3 different lathes, 1 milling machine, a big (Industrial size) TIG machine, and also MIG set up. If I'm in a rush and faced the situation he did in that video-I would have just made a gasket with smaller bolt holes where the bolts pass through, and also a smaller hole in the middle, leaving more gasket material to seal it up. But, if not in a rush, I enjoy using all of my equipment and would have definitely welded it up and then milled it flat. So, I guess I could or would do either, or both, depending on time available.

💥💥💥 Everything looks great. EXCEPT that polished stainless shroud over the radiator. It's clean looking, but the extreme shine clashes with everything else under the hood in my opinion. Something textured, coating wise would flow a lot better. A matte black powder, flat black powder, or SLIGHT wrinkle finish would blend well. Black anodized would be perfect, but that's very pricey. But excellent fab work as always Brother!

Just a thought that has been going around in my mind for a future build idea, not even sure if its possible. But, I've been bouncing around the idea of a duramax (maybe lbz) awd build. Maybe starting with a gasser awd denali or something and swapping a duramax in or even starting with an obs and swapping all the drivetrain to a duramax with a 6 speed or allison trans and awd transfer case, like I said though dont know if an awd transfer case could hold diesel torque numbers.

Hello, awesome work and I have a few questions please to hopefully help with my build. What year is the truck? On Huron they recommend the thinner intercooler and was wondering if you were trimming the grille to fit a bigger one. Also, where can i get one of those overflow reservoirs?
@MovingToads4 ай бұрын
Truck is a 2000. The 99-02 trucks require a bit of trimming if you have the radiator, condenser, transmission cooler, and 3” intercooler sandwiched together. When Huron says the thinner intercooler I’d imagine they are referring to a 3” as opposed to a 4” intercooler, which 03+ and HD guys can usually get away with and have very little to no trimming due to those body styles having more room up front. Even with the 3”, if you are a bubble eye 99-02 truck, you will likely have to trim a bit to get it all sandwiched up front. If you mount the transmission cooler cooler elsewhere you may not have to cut, but that brings problems of it’s own like getting enough airflow to the transcooler and having to put it in less than ideal places functionally speaking or aesthetically speaking. The catch can coolant triple tank is a TrueFocusFab piece. They have a website and are on instagram.
