Spot on, the sp streetfighters are cool, but the "regular" V4 or V4S are just better all around to have for the money. Case in point, the owner of a dealership I buy from rode my V4S streetfighter on track and loved it, decided to buy the SP version, and hated it. The fun, plushness, and ease of riding the V4S, were sort of ruined by making it more track-focused. It's like a high-performance SUV, sure they handle better and are faster...for an SUV but they still won't compare to a sports car, and these SPs almost seem like they are engineered to be something they're not. Great review as always!!!
@thedragonofechigo7878 Жыл бұрын
That's a very interesting way to put it. Engineered to be something they are not
@sp00ky1969 Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand why the SP would be any different to the V4S on track? The most significant differences are the wheels but the suspension is exactly the same. Other than that there’s the dry clutch and the rest is primarily cosmetic (rearsets, etc). Was your V4S a previous model year with different electronics?
@oneonlyxram Жыл бұрын
@sp00ky1969 so the sp actually has a different electronic package to the suspension, meaning it is a different mapping, it is stiffer and Ducati claims it is a second faster around the track vs the v4s. Watch 44th review of the SP they talk about that. But that owner of the dealership didn't like how the quick shifter functioned (again different mapping than the v4s) and found the bike to be very "twitchy" compared to the v4s, making it difficult to be smooth on track.
@sp00ky1969 Жыл бұрын
@@oneonlyxram I wasn’t aware of a different mapping for the suspension. If that’s the case then I wonder why. I have the Panigale SP2 and I was unaware of any differences in suspension electronics to the V4S and it certainly doesn’t feel particularly stiff, even in Race B (I’ve not tried Race A yet). It’s adjustable as well of course so I’m not sure why that couldn’t be adjusted between track and road use.
@williambrown6080 Жыл бұрын
Mate, you do know you're talkin absolute bollox don't you! I have had a 20 V4S, a 21 V4S and now own a 23 V4 SP2 and the SP2 is leagues beyond the S. Suspension better set up for track, lighter carbon wheels, rearsets to aid ground clearance, panigale 22 sprung suspension plus full power mode. V4s is what people go for when they can't afford the SP2 variant. The V4s on standard setup is better on the road but the SP2 can be softened up in the settings. Every test rider has gone a second a lap quicker on the SP version but somehow you and your dealer know better😂😂😂😂

Lovely. The original can is a design monstrosity. If the original exhaust looked like the aftermarket one, I might even buy one 😊
@sp00ky1969 Жыл бұрын
Akrapovic titanium exhaust prices are a bit out of control now, although there are other options. Personally, I prefer the look of the low-exit and particularly on the SF, but it is a little bit louder than the high-exit version.
@williambrown6080 Жыл бұрын
My full high level Akra system is getting fitted whilst bike is off the road, exhaust is £7042+ up to 12 hrs fitting. Loads of folk use other pipes and get them dyno'd or mapped to suit but the Akra system is developed in conjunction with Ducati from the offset so every single percent of every single gear in every single mode is tested, measured and mapped to suit, that's what your paying for, the development time, the absolutely perfect mapping and the exotic materials used in the exhaust itself. No aftermarket map will give you what you get from the Akra in conjunction with manufacturer, to me it's worth it. It makes my bike a £40k bike but don't really care, it's what i wanted and i'll keep it. Value will go down like a lead balloon initially but will recover and climb unlike the mass produced standard and S models.
