Great vibes as usual, thank you so much for sharing!!! Loved the way Max prepared food for Maya VERY sweet! But it made me hungry now lol. When Saga smiles, my heart smiles too :-) I think when she touched Max belly when grocery shopping, she was trying to warn him not to get too much food, so Max can keep his summer body loool. So glad that your family came over to your house for Midsommar. Hoping that we'll soon see Maya's side of the family for the next celebrations! The forest and lake view was AMAZING but diving in... Fun video! But some correction of facts: Pickled herring = Inlagd sill. Fermented herring = surströmming. And I believe the cheese cutter is a Norwegian invention. 🙂
@marcusfridh84892 жыл бұрын
yupp, it is a norweigian invention, and it is pretty good for using for peeling potatoes and other rootfruits, shredding cabbage slicing cucumber, and much more, a very underrated kitchen tool in my opinion. i liked the archery you had on midsummers eve.

Yes America has dill chips and dill pickle chips. I love dill pickle chips. Will you give me some advice on moving to a different country. I’m in Ann, only 4 hours from Canada and I’ve always wanted to move there, but now I’m really leaning more so towards New Zealand. I cannot tell a lie, I am very nervous about how I will be looked at in New Zealand as a brown person. I am unsure of how diverse it is there and how my children, and I would be treated poorly. Were you nervous when you moved to Europe husband’s home country? How do you feel about it first?

I’d definitely visit Sweden yes! Give me all the fish! I’ll try anything fermented. @Maya, I have seen some TikTok’s where people are so excited to visit a place, but once they get there, they face such racism and aggression, it totally ruins the experience. Would you say, there is a big possibility of that in Sweden, or people mind their own business on the streets?

The way Sil can be made better is to remove the sugar from the brine, and then replace the brine altogether with oil and salt. Sorry, Swedes, Eastern European gang wins when it comes to herring 🤷🏻♀️

Be careful with how your child sees you respond to new foods. Picky eaters are picked up from their parents and their eating habits. I noticed you all put lots of emphasis into disliking certain foods, fasting, and naming certain foods as “bad” which is fine when adults can discern the difference but cause food aversion in toddlers and children. Most picky eater children can be directly traced to picky eater parents. It’s so much easier when your child has neutral feelings around food and will eat most things. Picky eaters are hard and most parents miss how they model all the behaviors early on

Ughh...I HATE that I seen this movie Called MidSommer//here's the specs; (Came out: July 3 2019) A couple travel to Sweden to visit their friend's rural hometown for its fabled midsummer festival, but what begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.// And now I get creeper OUT by the spelling of "Summer" JUST bc of this creepy weird movie! Ughh.... (I'll watch th vlog for more info on why it's called MidSommer...must be understood Swedish thing..I'll do some research on it) **DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE!!!**
@LoveAimshigh2 жыл бұрын
Ok found this: People also ask Is Midsommar Swedish culture? Midsummer was primarily an occasion for young people, but it was also celebrated in the industrial communities of central Sweden, where all mill employees were given a feast of pickled herring, beer and schnapps. It was not until the 1900s, however, that this became the most Swedish of all traditional festivities.
