It's 15th August and it's finally time to leave Glasgow and head ... into the highlands. To Oban and beyond, where we stay the night at the highest station in Britain, it's Corrour! Which was always going to be amazing, and the location of where 'Trainspotting' was filmed - it was always going to be the ultimate tick!

I love how you are blown away by our beautiful landscapes. My local station is Arrochar & Tarbet, and I never tire of the journey to Oban or Fort William. I get irritated when I look round the train and see so many folk with their noses in their phones / iPads / laptops and hardly notice what is passing by the window.

I love All The Stations! Me and my dad actually went to Falls of Cruachan by train, took the tour and we got in for free because we didn't use the car! It was a great tour and they encourage eco-friendly modes of transport. I'd highly recommend it! :D

Like most I have watched the whole journey but I have never felt emotional as I have this one. Stunning closing scenes. Corrour, nay Scotland Tourist Board should simply pay for all the journey because is people are not inspired by this video to get out there nothing will. And as for the signal box living room. ... "Man with dog" at Rannoch. Amazing. I was there on a train for my stag do on February 2009. Said man with dog were the only passengers to alight at Rannoch into 3ft of snow. Dog promptly disappeared, and was seen jumping down the platform, completely buried with snow.

Just Beautiful..And the Silence, the roaring silence, is what I remember from Corrour and the hills around. Bothies are spread across much of the Scottish Highlands & Islands, many are privately owned by climbers and walkers clubs. I too shed a tear with this fabulous episode..nearly the end, and isn't the signal box a fab place to stay! A

What amazes me is the number of Londoners who can't believe how beautiful the countryside is. It's like they've never really been outside the M25. There is a whole country out there, not everywhere has crowds of people and a Starbucks on every corner.

right hand running at some stations, its all to do with spring loaded points, as the train crawls over them ,the wheels of the train push the point across to the correct position and then when the train is over the point, the point will spring back again

I've been looking forward to this one for a while now. My wife and I made it out to Oban (by car, unfortunately) about two years ago, and loved the scenery as we wound our way around Loch Lomond. Toured the power station on our way out. The proximity of the line to the motorway fascinated me (as did the town itself). Thanks for the nostalgia trip!

the two Tyndrum stations were Upper Tyndrum and Lower Tyndrum, but when R.E.T.B system was introduced Upper Tyndrum was renamed Tyndrum Upper so when block tokens and conversations between drivers and signallers were taken place the two stations were not mixed up

I remember with great fondness my day trip to Corrour almost exactly 7 years ago - walking down to the shoreline of the stunning Loch Treig, dinner in the Station House Restaurant and then the late train back to where I was staying down the line at Spean Bridge. Beautiful.

I'm pretty sure the boulder warning wires in the Pass of Brander have been there for years - but boulders at speed can jump! On my last visit I went round the underground power station and then stopped the train at Falls of Cruachan by hand signal. Great fun.

I went hiking for a few days in the Western Highlands about three weeks ago, and the trip included the Glasgow Queen Street -> Fort William line and the Kyle of Lochalsh -> Inverness line. Kept thinking there was a chance I might spot Geoff & Vicki in the wild, but unfortunately I had to settle for the otter I saw from the train window as we were going along the edge of Loch Carron.

In 2001, in the aftermath of the Hatfield rail crash AND in the middle of a national foot and mouth disease outbreak, there were no direct sleeper services for a while to Inverness via Fort William. On a seriously needed de-stressing trip, I took a sleeper from Euston to Glasgow Central which ran late so I couldn't get the Queen Street to Fort William connection. Scot Rail laid on a Glasgow city black cab for me on my own (yes, really!) all the way to Fort William. I therefore got the best of both worlds - the road trip up through Glencoe and the return rail trip further East through Corrour. Like you said, nothing short of stunning ... both ways.

One of the most amazing things about Corrour is that it's one of the few remote regions where taking a train is the only option. It literally has no road connection. Apparently even the station house adjusts their opening hours depending on the train schedule!

It was all down to this that me and my wife just spent our silver wedding anniversary on 10th Sep at Corrour. We was in the room opposite to where Geoff and Vicky stayed. There is only one word to describe it - AMAZING! If you have an interest in railways or just like something to do out of the ordinary then this is an absolute must. The staff who run the place are so friendly and hospitable and the food is plentiful and excellent quality. Even though it was a VERY stormy night when we stayed, it added to the magic in a way and you get the chance to really see the 'black of night' like nowhere else. I hope to return again one day
