The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

1:39:17 Maybe your criteria excludes this, since I'm sure that you're not forgetting this, or saying "no big deal." When I say criteria, it involves both this kind of play not being a 1 of 1, though it's details, impact, description, situation, etc. could make it so. Also, it's spectacular but needs another player to make it iconic... So you probably know already what I'm talking about, but Bird's Isaiah steal, tiptoeing in bounds, as he's kinda slowly toppling over, and I stress slowly both cuz its not like he defied gravity for 10 seconds, but also that second and a half "slowness" gave Bird enough time to throw a bullseye pass to a sprinting DJ for the PLAYOFF GAME sealing bucket. I mean, talk about the factors that elevate this common-ish play to legendary: -Playoffs -Stolen from an all time great -The perfect timing of every second Bird was on the court; the steal, the look up, the hesitation, the foot placement, the power of the pass, the resulting bucket, the game time left, the win.... iIt's quite literally the cliché saying in sports, or even in a lot of LIFE itself, "a half a second too late or too soon & a half inch too long, and the whole thing couldve never been. Instead, it is an iconic teaching moment to any youngster all the way up to rookie or sophomore pro players: You NEVER give up if there's any realistic chance of winning. You play ALL 48 minutes, as hard as you can, every game, especially close and late. And u ALWAYS HIGHLY prioritize cardio and hustle, because it is the one absolutely, 100%, controllable thing you possess in any sport. And it is independent of TALENT. You can make easy money betting on a 6th man that plays BALLS OUT, MAX EFFORT who ain't suckin wind, over the perennial all star who is pussyloafing it all game, who gives up too easily or too early on if his team is down, and ESPECIALLY if this all star finally sees they're back in the game and turns it on--- but it's too late. Their rhythm is off, they're panicking even just a bit, they're sulking if they ain't getting the ball.

I'm a hardcore MJ fan. GOAT all the way. #5 dunker is spot on. He wasn't creative. He had the vert, the power, the posters. But his dunks were all business. Even the cradles. He was protecting the ball and getting the bucket without breaking stride to stay ahead of the defender. No MJ fan should be butthurt by a #5 ranking.

So glad you mentioned SGA in the best footwork category. As an OKC fan I'm biased, but having watched every game over the past two years, I'm astounded every game at what the guy can do. I watched a video recently (I think from Thunder XP) that talked about Shai's footwork and showed clips in slo-mo and it is just incredible, like in some of his step backs which are done in a split second he is full on doing the splits. His change of pace is the best I've ever seen from any player.

He did have his famous “Left handed game” against the Blazers where he scored 47 points, but none of his 3 point makes were with his left. He scored roughly half of his points that game with his right. On the NBA’s official KZbin channel, you can find highlights of that game, and it shows every basket.

you could re-do the top 30 a hundred years from now and I bet MJ would still be number 1!

If Larry Bird played PG he’d average 10+ assists, and he’s made passes only rivalled by magic when it comes to difficulty.

LeBron James doesn't deserve to be on a dunker's list, ever. He ducked the contest - setting precident that ruined all-star weekend, variety is front tomahawk/flailing front tomahawk+awkward landing, clears space with off arm/rarely (if ever) called for it, & most iconic dunks are alley-oops over small point guards on 2v1 fast breaks (Jason Terry got the last laugh). Other than that, I think it's a good list, & I can def see the logic behind his picks. Top 2 have to be VC & Dominique; Larry Nance Sr & JR Smith are underrated names I could see in the #8-15 range. Nuggets-era Birdman deserves an honorable mention for sure. Lots of Lebron teammates at least? lol

why would Jerry West be a criticized selection as a top 5 scorer? the dude averaged 27 ppg. and if there was a 3 point shot he’d average over 40%. he shot around 47% which is very efficient for a high volume scorer in the 1960s. and it’s not like his scoring dropped off in the playoffs. he led the league in scoring. and he led all players scoring numerous times in the playoffs. if anything he’s underrated (just like Bird and Dr. J) because when we usually discuss the GOAT scorers….MJ, Kobe, KD, Wilt, Ice, AI, and Shaq usually come to mind.
