Man, what a game. Props to Pete and Orange for sticking it out. Have to admit that I skipped past some of the stalemate portions, but at 3:25:00 I think Pete had a line to cap run. He had a 10 trade plus 9 to deploy. If they all go in Mongolia that makes a 120 stack, which can punch through a 60 and get to the caps in SA which were a 22 and a 1, with 14 guarding Brazil. Then take the 41 from New Guinea and rush to the Middle East for the win. Depends on that first roll if it works, but it’s a chance to snag the win and almost certainly second place, since a fail would at least leave Orange weak enough for the bot to kill.

Pete, I have to commend you for sticking it out for 3.5 hours in a Fixed Cap game. I get bored after like an hour. Your patience and will to win is admirable. Also, the ranking system sucks and it's super demoralizing. I know I'm good enough to be Master, not quite Grandmaster yet I'd say but Master for sure, but a string of bad luck is keeping me in Expert. It's ridiculous that Yellow gets first in the ranking system in this game, and you will probably get maybe 100 points towards your rank for that, if that. I wouldn't be surprised if you actually lose points for not getting first.

I think ideally players who disconnect should be given a certain number of turns to return rather than a timer before they lock in their placement.

Because if it's based on time instead of turns, it encourages stalling by the active remaining players to run out the clock.

This game was a blast to watch! Finally got around to it; it is a shame yellow took it after the bot out. I wish the developers would do something about that. Regardless, this was a well fought win for you in my eyes!! Glad I watched till the end, this was seriously one of the best games I’ve seen in a while! Thanks!!!!

Question, when it was Orange's turn at around 3:01:38, why wouldn't he make his main stack in central america to add presure to your cap there, kind of forcing you to either add there or risk loosing that, but if you do add there that makes your other positions weaker with dealing with the bot? I know it isn't a cap, but his cap isn't going to get hit, and it makes a play to get another cap.

Pete, can you explain how pick caps in these settings compared to the Europe meta? Seems your caps are less "forward" with these settings and I'm too much of a noob to understand the rationale.

Europe meta is progressive as far as I saw Progressive is always about being able to chain-kill your opponents and generate troops via cards and not bonuses necessarily. Usually as the europe map is huge, you still take bonuses

I think this variety of fixed cap game is an argument for some sort of stalemate rule, x number of turns without an attack by any party would cover a lot of the worst examples.

I finally downloaded this game. Ive watched TONS of pete. Maybe even too much, as i was wondering why pete wasnt looking to card block orange. 5 minutes later pete hinted at that. I figured maybe he didnt want to sacrifice a 30 stack as defender as orange would be forced to hit SOMETHING. Im the first self proclaimed grand master without ever playing a single game, but am probably well over the 1000 hour mark of watching middle aged man play risk😂😂😂
