Up until this point, the road shoes I've run in have been predominantly Mizuno, with some others sprinkled in. But trail shoes have been dominated by Hoka. But now in my hands I have Mizuno Wave Mujin 9 trail shoe and it is an awesome shoe with an aggressive outsole that keep's your foot nicely connected to the ground while running trails!
I run in tons of of Mizuno Running Shoes. They are probably 95% of what I run in. But now in my hands I have Mizuno Wave Mujin 9 Trail shoe in my hands

I live in South Africa and have been running in the Mujin 8's for the last year. I have quite extreme over-pronation and these were recommended. Honestly they changed the game for me. Best trail shoe I have ever run in. No more ankle issues and comfort for miles. They are also an incredible hiking shoe. Looking forward to your review of the 9's

Hi, do your Mizuno's have enough room in the toe box area? I need to find shoes to allow correct toes, toe spacers to be worn inside. thanks

They do for me, i haven’t had any issues with their shoes being too narrow.

@@rydermcgaffin6338 If you can source half sizes they generally have more toe box area. eg 9 and a 1/2(half) or 10 and a 1\2(half)

Such a good shoe :) great on the trails, only thing I have is the drop, its quite high, again 10mm the daichi is not as grippy but 8mm drop is better, but thats just me! hopefully you like the feel :) o and they are super durable!

I wish it was more down in the 5mm to 8mm drop. We will see! I have high hopes!

Looks interesting. I do like the Mizuno Wave Horizons. But are these wide enough in the toebox? That's the main reason I switched from Hokas (and Altras) to Topos. People with wider feet would like the Topo Ultraventure 3 or Pursuit trail shoes. BTW, I believe that little pocket on top of the tongue is to store the laces (at least that is what they do with Salomon shoes).

They are an aggressive tread trail shoe, I would not use them for just road. Mizuno has the wave inspire, wave Rider, wave Sky and the wave rebellion flash(new) that would do well for road.

Nope, never seen one. I have only tried one pair of Salomon trail shoes many years ago…didn’t have it.

@@motivationtheoryrunning Gotcha. Lots of their have it now, so our different experience with lace pockets probably is due to when we came to the brand. As an aside, Brooks Catamount takes a different approach to the lace issue. They have a stretchy keep on the tongue that works pretty well. I used Salomon SenseRide 3 to run 50mi across the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and the Brooks Catamount 2 do do the same a couple years later. Both solutions worked well for me. No re-tying or tripping over laces.

Yeah for me it was true to size..11.5 US, same as I wear for all Mizunos…
