You get to fly but it’s worse than creative flight and also you have to beat the ender dragon, keep it mended, keep a hefty supply of gunpowder, and remove your chest plate. Canman doesn’t even play in a world past getting diamonds anyways so I don’t get what he’s complaining about it’s obviously an end game item though the real overpowered part of it is that you can use it to evade the warden which is also an end game area anyways

I think ice pathway in nether with portals at both ends is the FASTEST POSSIBLE TRAVELLING. Think for a while .... 1 block in nether is 8 block in overworld....a blue ice boat pathway goes 73 b/s and in nether its 8 * 73 b/s that is whopping 584 blocks per second...ULTIMATE SPEED than elytra.

For the blue ice boat method; I would recommend building it in the nether for maximum distance. Yes, it will be an absolute pain to build, but it’ll be worth it

Once you build it life becomes way easier. My friend and I both had bases that were roughly 5 Lv4 maps apart. Normally it took 20-30min to visit each other but the nether highway makes it take somewhere around a minute.

You can actually half the amount of blocks you use in ice boat bridges, by making so that instead of a solid line of ice, it's one block of ice next to one block of air, and so on. Boats are more than a block long, so you wont fall off. Also, if you add railings, you only need to make your bridge one block wide.

Don't even waste your time...all you need is one soul sand block and a water bucket with a few stacks of kelp that's so easy to get... The kelp is used to turn all the flowing water into water sources and the soulsand under the water creates a very fast elevator...

Fan fact: if you build a nether portal in the overworld and get in, you will create a connection. But if you destroy the portal in the nether, go above bedrock and rebuild the portal at the same coordinates (exept for the hight), you will recreate that connection. With this method you can travel in the nether without concerning with lava pools, foretress or bastions, because you will spawn above bedrock, so it will be a straight line.

The thing about mine carts is that iron is cheap to produce with a farm and it’s easy to build rails in bulk. Yes blue ice is superior, but it’s also really time consuming to produce. The only times I ever use Blue ice highways is in the nether. The decrease in travel time makes worth the investment.

You can cheapen it a lot by using a mix of slabs and ice. The slabs don’t touch the boat so it doesn’t slow it down, but on the other hand you don’t fall through when you get out of the boat, keeping everything walkable. For a two-wide ice path, 3 of 4 blocks can be slabs. For three-wide, 5 of 6.

The elytras is the most balanced item in minecraft, much more balanced than an oak log. Oak logs are so overpowered, you can use them for anything, want to build a basic house, use it to craft basic tools to help with making the house, no other resources needed, stuck on an island, use wood to make a boat, can’t find coal? Burn some logs in a furnace for charcoal, so many uses and so overpowered, I don’t know what they were thinking when they made this item

I've seen people claim that not needing to think about movement is what makes it worth it but it really needs more than what it gets. Like if the minecart with furnace was actually significantly faster compared to powered rails alone I'd even take that.
