I'm in the northern edge of south Florida, on the east coast. This year I started some peppers & tomatoes in September (usually I get busy & don't start until December). The plant are very happy right now. My everglades tomatoes already have flowers, and even some tiny tomatoes!

Another important thing is to grow what you can handle and what you eat. Creating a garden so large and stresses you out is not what you want to do. Gardening is suppose to be fun.

My 7 tropical sage plants grew like crazy and got much taller than I expected. Very pretty but I probably didn’t need 7 plants. Learning is part of the fun.

Fun fact, you can get seeds at many Pinellas County Public Libraries!

Would love to see whats growing in your yard and containers; that tends to be where i get most of my help and ideas from when watching garden videos versus the tutorial method.

Eagerly awaiting our first order of winter vegetable seeds! Finally feeling confident enough to try some vegetable gardening thanks to you! Someone forgot to tell the gnats that they’re supposed to give us a break this time of year 😂

Great tips and guidance Jacqueline. Try stir fry lettuce when you’ve eaten so many salads. Honestly good with garlic and chilies 🌶 lots of recipes online plus beet greens, pak choi and chard’s all stir fry nicely. Speaking of what didn’t work well last winter and is growing well this winter … pak choi was a bust growing in containers for me they bolted before the plants matured this year I started them direct sow in ground same time as last winter and it’s growing so well we’ve been eating from it already and I’m succession planting to get us through to warmer weather. 👏👏 I may try blanching and freezing some for quick soups.

I have been listening!! We put in several cattle panel trellises last winter and this winter we are in the middle of moving 10 yards of mulch to the garden. City was cutting limbs by the lines....asked for 2 loads 😊....its definitely cooking 😂

In southwest coastal Florida my tomato and pepper plants under lights are growing like gangbusters. Waiting until the end of January to put them in the ground. Night temps are too chilly right now.

Jacqueline, what is that plant with light, purple flowers growing below, and maybe, on your trellis in this video?

Hi there! I just found your channel and I am so excited to get started on a vegetable garden. I just ordered the planner and the book. I am wanting to start the garden in a raised bed in my lanai. What are your thoughts on this? Any tips? I forgot to mention I am in Sarasota

I want to try some blueberries because I hear they do well in Pinellas but can't seem to find a good nursury to buy them from. Online nursuries are either out of stock or way to expensive

Hi, am I noticing that you do not mulch your raised beds ie lettuce behind you? Is that a money saving choice or is mulch just not necessary?

Thank you Jacqueline for the inspiration! For the last two years I have been working on my native landscape. Now that it is relatively complete, I am ready to move on to the next mega project - edibles gardening 🥕🍅🍓🫐🍍🍌🍋🥬🫑. I just got my copy of your book “Florida Gardening.” So excited!
