In 10 years Sony might not even be worried about Call of Duty or Microsofts cloud efforts. Has anyone been paying attention to their acquisitions? - They bought Haven studios which is literally Jade Raymond (ex-Google VP & head of Stadia Gaming) and the Google Stadia team because she took them with her. - They bought Bungie which has the live service expertise and the gunplay gods (Halo & Destiny) - They bought Firewalk which is ex-Bungie & Activision (another studio with FPS & live service expertise) - They bought Nixxes who literally god tier PC game porters - They bought Bluepoint who are the king of remake/remaster devs (outside of Capcom lol), Meanwhile Microsoft is buying these big successful studios and having them release these AA Gamepass games. Minecraft Legends, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Redfall, Bleeding Edge, while also still relying on Halo, Gears, and Forza. It's 2023, come on now at this point. Yall notice Phil Spencer is not even promoting Redfall? Not even a tweet? Lmao.

Soyny literally admitted that they can't create anything like COD, they only know how to make interactive movies that please game critics, but not actual players. And while at that, they are so shit at making good products that the only way they can get players is by paying developers to not release games on PC, let alone xbox or Nintendo. Sad but true. "Quantum Break" is the last Xbox exclusive I have truly fond memories off. Flawed, sure, but still a great game to me, and I'd loved to have gotten a sequel. But nothing on the same level ever came out of Xbox since. Only cancellation after cancellation, and disappointment after disappointment.

F U my guy! I own all consoles. I play the multi-platform games on my Series-X, i.e., Call of Duty, FortNite, RE4Remake and JEDI:Survivor because they run better than on PS5 and PC "Master Race"😂😂. PLUS, XBOX LIVE is better than PSOnline. My Xbox account never got hacked into, unlike my PS account; 4 times in 6 years!😤😤 I use my PS5 for the exclusives, i.e., God of War and Horizon. Same with my Switch: EXCLUSIVES.

Hollow,Gears,&Forza are no longer enough to sustain the console for an entire generation. I knew xbox was in trouble 10 years ago at E3 2013 when they showed xb1 and sony destroyed them with the ps4 reveal. but even then i gave xbox a couple years to get back in the race. It took PS half of a gen to go from the industry doormat to back to a contender. Nintendo, have half the Wii and all of the Wii U to finally being back on top. Sega tapped out after the Dreamcast, they knew what was up. But Microsoft is still there for over a decade now, and there is no sign of them improving. No building new ips, just acquiring existing ones. But people are just fine with it.

Microsoft is where Sega was after the Sega CD, 32X, Saturn and Dreamcast but the difference is that Microsoft isn't going anywhere because they can afford to fail. Microsoft is a billion dollar company, no matter how shit they are they'll be able to stay in the market. Sega couldn't afford it so they left. But Microsoft is in the L zone right now. And I don't see that changing. They're a tech company, not a game development company.

My first ever console was Switch. Then i was lucky and bought ps5 on premiere. A week a go i bought xbox series s. But the reason i bought xbox was different than Switch and PS5. I bought those consoles for their exclusives and since alot of japanese games i like tend to only be a 3rd party games there. I bought xbox to play old xbox 360 era games like Metal Gear Rising and FF 13 that didn't get ported to ps4/5 and emulators. That's literally it. Xbox for me has nothing o offer except being a all in one retrobox. It doesn;t help that im not really fan of any of their IP's mostly because they never really change. Halo looks and play nearly the same since halo 3, Forza each time is the same game with different map. gears of war is literally the same game over and over again. There is no innovation if anything it goes backwards. I may be mistaken about those games, i barely played them but those were the reasons they didn't hook me. Don;t get me wrong PS5 also have games that are not for me. I never played the last of us but i can;t deny it's a real piece of technical artwork. Especially 2 story might be terrible but it is a solid piece of software. God of war i don;t like the change to the formula but i can;t deny it's not an enjoyable and really good game, it says something when i can complain about the game but still get platinum because it is fun enough

I think the beginning of todays problems started under Don Mattrick. He closed FASA studios (Mechassualt, Crimson Skies), Ensemble (Age of Empires, Halo wars), and Lionhead (Fable). I think if Mattrick hadn't sabotaged Xbox with these and many other horrible decisions then Xbox would be in a much better place. I do believe it is taking a bit too long to correct things but i also think it will get better soon(ish).

@@kian26master Mattrick was booted almost 10 years ago. Microsoft didn't start fixing the problem until about 6 years ago. Then, the last few years have been rough on even established studios. I have a PS5 but I play it only for exclusives. My Xbox takes up 80% of my gaming time. I really loved PS exclusives like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War but honestly, I had more of a blast playing Horizon 5 and Grounded with a few friends recently.

Back when the 360 was still a money maker, things for Xbox were great. They still had real exclusives back then and ran the games far better than ps3 and Wii combined. But MS forgot what made Xbox great and ruined it going forward. The xbone was an utter joke and the series x/s could be going down in flames soon afterward.

Xbox would better off be a line of gaming PCs these days. I do like the original Xbox and a bit of the 360 (mostly because of the Kinect sensor) but Xbox has no real console exclusives like PlayStation and Nintendo do. The only good thing is backwards compatibility. That being said, I do plan on getting an original Xbox to play original Xbox stuff that hasn't been re-released yet. I like PlayStation and Nintendo equally and I wouldn't be without both. Edit: If Xbox embraces ARM and AI then I'd be fine with them staying in the console space.

Just so you know Sony also said in 2018 they had crossed the 500 million mark. Interesting that somehow someway they used the same over the top number 5 years later. Umm what has Sony done ? They remake games from 8 minutes ago sure. They both use the same chip architecture except Microsoft’s is a little stronger . Sony hasn’t had any 30 fps games?
