Thanks for acknowledging the effort. It's just not feasible, especially for a lot of the higher end production machines to buy every single machine, that said, we made it a point a long time ago to make sure that we gave things as thorough and unbiased to review as absolutely possible.

Spot on review. I started using an Xtool at the end of February. It's a great machine. Like it so much I then bought the 20w Pro the day it was released which I'm now trying to sell after buying a 90w co2. The 10w will always be a part of my shop.
@LaserEverything2 жыл бұрын
Nice Nate, glad I got to start with the 10w then. It's a solid performer for sure.

Great review, thanks. I wonder why there is no smoke and vapour management when you cut for these diode lasers. CO2 usually have a ventilated enclosure and even that is usually inadequate for serious work and needs an upgrade. Most desktop CNC routers offer a vacuum hood so that dust can be managed. Surely the safety considerations should include off-gassing, vapours and smoke?

So, what will be the best printer for printing the pictures on prescious metals (gold, silver etc.) And the best operation software to link the photo files with Photoshop?

Is EZCad3 compatible with the Mr.Carve M1 and if so, where is the best place to download it from?

Not to my knowledge. Ezcad 3 requires and Ezcad 3 control board and I don't believe the Mr.Carve units ship with those so it won't work.

I'm a bit confused wich is the best printer for "printing" the picture-files (jpeg, raw..) to the metal surfaces, and metals ONLY. Needed for jewelry and for jewelry ONLY. After looking your videos, I would like to get your suggest for the best results achieved by your magnificent empirical experience in the field. So, printing unit, user software to operate with Photoshop (as seen on your great videos!)

I appreciate your review. I however disagree with some of your thoughts. I’ve had my XTool D1 Pro for about 2 months now and my instruction manual was all in English and having done test burns prior to all of my cuts and engraving I’ve had no problems engraving in stainless steel. Other than those small things, very detailed review.

Good review. I was hoping that you were comparing what machine would be a 10 vs a 1 in each category. I see why you scored the features the way you did maybe the next video show us what is the better buy and compare it to this ranking structure. I'm looking to buy a laser and I'm still not sure. This one seems high end for entry level before moving into fiber.

Great review! The diode prices keep pushing higher I keep thinking why not go C02? Yes diode has its place and people will pay for plug n play but over $1K? With diode prices climbing I think there is room for a K40 "XL" 400x400 and adjustable Z sub $2k. Just a thought.
@LaserEverything2 жыл бұрын
There's definitely a weird space between the diode and the small omtech desktop lasers that doesn't really have any CO2 entries. I'd love to see more devices in that space. The diodes are getting more expensive but there are also some competing devices with similar load outs to the xTool with a lower entry point we'll be taking a look at as well. the $500-$1500 range is very strange right now lol
@vrich37332 жыл бұрын
@@LaserEverything I just wanted to come back to say there is kinda a K40 "XL" that I totally missed. OMTech (and maybe others) has a 50w 12x20, adjustable bed, rotary and air assist. The machine footprint is 40.2×25.6×24.8 in. It is a desktop but marketed with the bigger machines. On ebay its $1699. OMTech site it is $2100 but they honor warranty from third party sellers! I hope this helps someone. I think this fits my bill for my first co2.

Pretty good review :) However i would also have loved to see some timings :) Like cutting different thicknesses, engraving speeds (examles of pictures and other stuff) Also i would defently love to see someone get as good engravings as their eagle in the marketing. People might disagree, but i still think that diodes are a hobby laser and not much more. :)
@LaserEverything2 жыл бұрын
I wish I could have spent more time on it :/ only so many hours in the day spent almost 3 weeks on this review lol - unfortunately I had to move on. The eagle is definitely photoshopped lol. Diodes for the most part are definitely going to be relegated to beginners but I stand by them having some really nice features for small format photo work if that's something you're into.

Hey! Been following you for a while, it seems to me you have never spoken about the OPT Laser Diodesand their great focusing Optics, the latest XT-50 seems to have a very small dot of 50um and hence great kW/cm² power and DPI. What do you think about it?

There could be a lot of reason's, its hard to say without more info. Be sure you're in focus, it will have a huge impact on how a material reacts (or doesn't react) if the focus isn't just right. Beyond that, you may also need to double check your parameters. I recommend joining one of our communities, where you can make a forum post where helpers can ask for more info and can help troubleshoot.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe they offer the 20W as an upgrade to the 10W D1 Pro only for the older D1. You will have to purchase a whole new machine to play with the 20W. Please someone tell me if I am wrong about this. Great review!
@LaserEverything2 жыл бұрын
I think it's the other way around Patrick but I'll have to double check now. Pretty sure the 20w is ONLY available on the pro as it is able to be purchased in that configuration.
@builditbetter56102 жыл бұрын
They sell 2 different laser modules 20w for the D1 and 20w for the D1 pro. There is about a ~$200 difference, I can't seem to find specs on what makes the pro version better then the standard for the additional money.

Great review, albeit a bit of Rollercoaster, it's a great machine, it sucks, it's a decent machine, needs improvement, it's awesome, it's sub par. I guess that's to be expected with a machine at this price point that's not a polished product. I can't get over the prices on accessories, $600 for a laser module is insane and $125 for the xtools honeycomb bed when competitors are ~$65.
