This dog needed a lot of tlc and time, and I take my disabled ass outside with her every 3 hours and walk, more hours spent playing fetch inside when my pain gets to be too much. I had two cats already but she needed someone and turned out, I did too. She’s a wonderful and loving companion and helps so much with my loneliness. How anyone could treat animals that give unconditional love, support and loyalty like this is beyond my comprehension. Shame on her. (retracted tail, trying to get away, laying on his back showing his belly, not being playful anymore) to me shes not an animal abuser (at least from what ive seen in this video) shes just really insecure and cant control that dog at all. animal abuse for me is a really specific thing. are people who cant control their dog animal abusers? no are people who dont walk their dog each day animal abusers? no are people who have too little time for their dog animal abusers? no what makes people animal abusers? if they either physically harm their dog to the point the dog shows fear (so hes actually hurt), or if they neglect the basic needs of a dog, like food, water, a minimum of running around each day, a minimum of love and affection.

Hi guys! I work as a dog trainer/behavioral specialist. It might not look like she physically hurt this pup, but Dobermans are actually prone to a condition called Wobbler’s syndrome, which means their spine is compressed. In a house like Brooke’s with slippery hard wood floors, if they slip (or are pushed, like how she throws him to the ground at 3:44), their fragile spine could be affected and leave them with a limp and difficulty walking. Dobermans are large and strong, but are seriously prone to spine & neck problems. You should obviously NEVER push or hit your dog, even if you think it’s the proper way to correct their behavior, but this makes her actions so much more disheartening. I seriously doubt this is the *only* time she’s ever treated her dog this way, and I’m so worried about him. 🥺

Absolutely! I don't know where she got this adorable doberman from. I would hope that any place public or private would do their due diligence and vet the new " parent" and at the very least be sure the new " parent" is aware of the amount of space and time such a pup takes. Obvi... she was waaaay over her ego/head! I still have nightmares about the abuse and that.....GLARE she gave that poor excited pup friend! I really hope she doesn't ever get the opportunity to pull the wool over ANYONE'S eyes EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I'm not saying you can't raise a healthy happy large dog in a small space. What I'm saying is based upon this video of this dog "parent." In this particular situation it's evident the close quarters is a contributing factor. This "parent" is in way over their head. They're overwhelmed and extremely ill prepared. As a veterinarian, I see this same sad scenario time and time again. Over the past 15 years, my clinic has fostered so many growing pups. The adoptive parent(s) surrendered them due to the very reasons we've witnessed in this video. Thank goodness, she accidentally uploaded the truth. Otherwise, she would've continued on with this charade, which in my opinion was driven by content and views and not based on love or respect for this life long friend.

Missed some points -When she goes to the back after hitting him on the face, you can hear multiple hits. - she comes back to the camera rubbing her hand from how hard she hit him. - at the end you can see through the reflection of the tv how she kicks him. - dogs don't understand the spitting but shows how messed up she's in the head by doing it. - she uses a choke collar. Don't get a dog if you want to hurt it (its incredibly the amount of people who try to justify choke collars. THEY HURT, if they don't then why not use a regular collar which can also be painful as it is.

I don't vote or listen to the idiots on the news, I'm just cool with everyone except for preachers and pedophiles unless someone behaves disagreeably of course. If she continues to confuse the dog (by hyping him up and then being aggressive with him) she will have a confused frustrated dog that will lash out by chewing things up in her house and may act out by jumping up, like he did in the video. It is VERY UNLIKELY a Doberman would turn on its owner. On the other hand... if she was a very passive girl who lets the dog walk all over her...then I could see the dog seeing himself as the one in charge and maybe snapping at her over food, toys, etc. Either way...she needs some serious help and I hope the person/persons that help her will call her out on confusing the poor thing.

The crying might not be because of physical pain (like runnning into concrete where some dogs apparently don't make any noise), it could be communicative behavior that makes it clear that the whining dog is scared and suppressed. That way the "attacking" member of a pack knows that it's enough now and the dog is actually suppressed enough.

Probably the most logical comment I’ve seen here. While I t is important to teach a dog that large not to jump up on people. She obviously didn’t know what she was doing, but I’m willing to wager most people who are moral grandstanding here don’t know the first thing that comes with caring for a dog. Too many times have I seen people not understand the responsibility that comes with a dog and the neglect that ensues as a result.
@tomhardy1165 жыл бұрын
@@CB-vx1fu difference between neglect and abuse (you hopefully know that, i'm not being patronising). The reason so many are "moral grandstanding" is because despite you needing to discipline your dog, you as a person shouldn't feel comfortable with practically beating the animal into submission, that is abuse. If you do feel comfortable with that, then you're either a bit fucked up or just don't care for the animal, in which case get rid of it and give it to someone who is willing to be patient and teach it the correct way. I've had animals and couldn't imagine hitting them or hurting them, I would much rather just put up with their shit than do that, most semi-decent people would be the same way.

This behavior was certainly that of a poor dog mother... BUT... you have to realize something. There's a very simple formula # of dogs - # of dog homes = # of euthanized dogs If this dog is sent to a re-homing agency, or the pound/humane society, or even PETA... the dog may be euthanized. And even if the dog does not get euthanized... that dog pushes another dog farther down the line and that dog gets euthanized. It is a 1 for 1 correlation. Every dog home created saves a dog. Every dog home destroyed kills a dog. Every one dog born into a home that intends to get rid of them (by sale or by giving them to the humane society) is equal to one dog humanely killed. This is why spaying an neutering your pets is essential. It prevents dog death. When you see firsthand what life at the humane society is... it changes your perspective on shit. When you see dogs confined to 4x4 rooms with dog barks echoing all night every night... sleeping on a cot and often going days without direct interaction... and then you see that dog euthanized after a month of boredom, fear, and misery ... guess what... you look at a dog who's trainer smacks him in the head sometimes, and uses spitting as a form of punishment [weird]... and you think... "So what?" The dog is alive, fed, interacted with, loved (believe it or not), socialized, and doesn't seem to have any diseases or interact violently with humans... That's easily a 8/10 existence for a dog. When someone says a dog should be rehoused by the humane society, I ask myself 2 questions. 1. Is this dog a health or safety risk to humans or other dogs? 2. Is rescuing this dog worth killing the oldest dog we have? If I don't get 2 yeses, the owner is getting a warning and nothing more... ever You can't save dogs if you get too invested in individual dogs' circumstances, unfortunately. You have to look at the long-game as best you can.

Re-homing it would be the right thing to do, she obviously hates it. The spitting, that isn't punishment, that is hatred and the way she looks at it with dead eyes, she should not have this dog. The dog can become traumatized by the way she is treating it. I think you are just arguing to be contrarian. I see what your saying but re-homing an animal does not necessarily mean another animal dies and animals that are being abused should absolutely be re-homed.
