Actually there is! Once your apps are in wiggle mode, hold an app with one finger then with another you can just select as many apps as you want then drag the whole thing to wherever you want it and they will be placed in that order!

Worst addition to iOS 16 is the change the wallpaper from Lock Screen. Everyday at least once I Will supposedly be touching the screen for to long, worst is you can’t even disable it!
