For those that may not know, Gene and Paul didn't put Ace on the cover of creatures to seem like nice guys. They did it to fool the record company Polygram. Ace, Gene and Paul had signed a recording contract with a specific clause that said "kiss are Gene, Paul and Ace. If any of these three persons leaves the group it is a breach of contract." So when Ace wanted to leave, Paul and Gene only wanted him to stay because of contractual reasons, they still probably would've treated him poorly which is why he wanted out. They kept voting him down. Why stay when you have no say in anything. That's why I know Gene and Paul aren't as bright and savvy as they tell everyone. They shot themselves in the foot from Unmasked to the start of Creatures. It wasn't Bill's fault, nor Ace's fault. But they were the scapegoats to Gene and Paul's fragile ego's.

Eddie would have never left his brother. And Eddie is a musical genius. Kiss music is too simple for Eddie and in my opinion would not have fit in. But yes the best guitarist in the world and didn't pursue him hard enough is idiotic

Aucoin was essential to the success of Kiss, but they had to get rid of him for many reasons. He was reckless in so many ways. But, some of the things both Paul and Peter say about him in their books and what I’ve read on forums, it tainted how I feel about the band. Been a fan since 77’. Big fan.

Only saw Vinnie once with KISS. It was during the 10th Anniversary Tour. He could not do justice to any Ace licks. I was not impressed with him at all. He did write some great songs though.
