American here. I've never once heard Jell-O called 'nervous pudding'. One time I was in southern Virginia and heard it called 'congealed salad'.

As a Midwestern US American, I have also never heard of nervous pudding.

Yeah here to represent the deep south lol. No one calls it nervous pudding. I have heard congealed salad.

I think the researchers exclusively talk to New Yorkers who a) are either lying or telling them 1930's slang or b) are New Yorkers

Nervous pudding I’ve only heard as a joke, but I was once surprised to find out what ambrosia salad is…and other salads that somehow have Jell-O and mayonnaise 🤢

The nervous pudding thing sounds like diner slang and probably picked it up from some old TV program.

Yeah they actually say that it's specific to diners - like "shit on a shingle" or "Adam and Eve on a raft."

American 62 years old, been in every state except Alaska. Lived northeast, southeast, west coast, southwest, NEVER HEARD OF NERVOUS PUDDING except as a joke. Never seen it on a menu. I have seen a jello dessert that looks like the ‘nervous pudding’ picture on google. Brits also appear to have trouble understanding the difference between our Jelly, Jam, and Preserves. I think between Fox News and the movies they have are uniquely warped view of America. But I’m definitely an Anglophile spiritually and genetically (77%). Even lived in London for a few months. 🏳️

The whole section about David sounds true. lol. TBH, if you said "David Mitchell is married to Victoria Coren". You would 100% say, Well thats clearly bullshit. lol.
