Love the message, one tip, there’s a very sharp loud clicking every time the lessons are mentioned, it’s really distracting and a loud nuisance. Great video otherwise.

Great video but can u PLEASE do away with the 3 whipping sounds at the beginning of every of the 10 points u raised? With such a calming and reflective video, its so jarring and shocking. At first i thought my car was sparking up or something. Otherwise, keep up the great work.

I am listening this at the archeological site of Sirmium Emperors Palace, place where Marcus Aurelius lived for a decade. Looking towards the river where he probably looked in his time. I feel a strong connection to the place we shared, with 2000 years between us. These words seam timeless and more valuable then anything I hear around me now.

Acceptance of Fate: Embrace life’s unpredictability and accept what we cannot control. Mindfulness: Focus on the present moment and cherish it. Gratitude: Appreciate what you have rather than longing for what you don’t. Resilience: Face challenges head-on and learn from them. Compassion: Extend kindness to others, fostering a supportive community. Which of these lessons resonates with you the most, and how do you plan to apply it in your life?
What an inspiring video! The idea of using ancient wisdom to navigate modern challenges is brilliant. The emphasis on mindfulness and gratitude hit home for me. Thanks for breaking down these profound lessons in such a relatable way!

Isn't it ironic how our pursuit of positivity often leads to negativity, while embracing our negative experiences can surprisingly bring positivity? Mark Manson's insight challenges our conventional notions, prompting us to rethink the nature of happiness and fulfillment. It's a reminder that sometimes, the path to true contentment lies in acceptance rather than constant striving.

What are your methods of controlling your perceptions?
@PhilosophyJourney-014 ай бұрын
@@carrie-kari Great question! I find that practicing mindfulness and regularly reflecting on Stoic principles really helps me control my perceptions. Journaling and meditating on quotes from Stoic philosophers like Marcus Aurelius also provide clarity and focus. If you're interested in exploring more Stoic techniques, I share a lot of insights on my channel 'Philosophy Journey'. It dives deep into these topics and more!

This is only partially true. If a man is born into (for example) a rich heritage, is good looking, mindful and has thirst for real knowledge, he can be a enlightened man aswell.. i think its way too complicated for us normal humans to really understand how to become enlightened.. its not suffering that makes a man A MAN, but its knowledge, wisdom, education, strength and empathy that makes a man truly a man.
@oddalfhutlur6760 Жыл бұрын
I wish i was Smart enough to get my point across haahaha
@j_mart_rising Жыл бұрын
@@oddalfhutlur6760 You do not understand the point here brother, regardless of situation, it takes discipline to build oneself, and it takes suffering to truly aquire knowledge, wisdom, education, strength and empathy. When I go study copywriting and SMMA for 3 hours a day, suffering. When I go to the gym and train till failure, suffering. When I practice social skills, suffering (im an introvert). But do you get the point here? One must endure setbacks and constant friction to acquire whats needed to be a successful man.

An unbreakable mind? Ha, ha, haaa...I have never heard of such madness in my very long life. First, we have to define the mind. Second, find the substance that is made of, and after that, we can talk about the concept of breaking and mental toughness. But if your want to lie and fool yourselves, count on my approval and encouragement, just imagining you falling for this nonsense, makes me roll with laughter, thank you!
@cmic6961 Жыл бұрын
I only see 1 down side. If you have a strong mind and strongly hold on to your beliefs and you get a chance to realize that you where wrong or its time to upgrade you will probably never see it or be able to accept it. I would say we all need to fight for a balance overall in order to not get stock on our own concepst.❤
@bote7795 Жыл бұрын
Having a strong mind doesn't mean holding strongly on to your beliefs. a strong mind is a flexible mind, but rigid enough to be able not to take all the gibberish around it for granted/true. You have to put all the information that gets to you through the rational filter of mind. As Diogenes said, the mind that doesn't question every single thing that surrounds it, is doomed to loss.

A tough mind is made through struggle and within that struggle knowing only you can save yourself by not giving up. It doesn’t start anywhere else and doesn’t come from anything else, mental toughness doesn’t come from reading about other peoples struggles and mental toughness, we are born with the ability to continue the fight or succumb to it, what will you choose and how far are you willing to go??? The answer to that is your mental toughness
