I never saw the Disney's Peter Pan, I only grew up with this version and Return to Neverland. It broke my heart when I found out this movie was a box office bomb, because it's easily better than Hook, Pan and it looks like we have to add 2020's Wendy to the pile.

It had really bad marketing. Everything else was amazing, but the marketing sucked. I barely remember ever seeing a trailer (maybe once). I will agree that this one is definitely the best out of straight up adaptations of Peter Pan, I grew up with hook but I don't really count it among them since it's technically a sequel and not truly an adaptation of the original story. 15:44 - 15:53 - To be fair though, “Finding Nemo” does have a bit of dated animation, mostly with the human characters like P. Sherman and Darla. The underwater scenes and the backdrop of Sydney Australia are still pretty awesome and beautiful to look at 17 years later, but the scenes featuring humans do remind you of how Pixar had a long way to go before making humans look and move as good as the animation.

I truly loved this film and this movie make me loved and inspired cinematic movies in movie theaters. Such a shame it didn't do well at the box office over competition against big movies during Thanksgiving much like what happened to the Rescuers Down Under competition with Home Alone and Treasure Planet against other movies during that time. I like this movie... despite the weird CGI. Hook is so scary and strong in this version, i was affraid of him when i first saw the movie in 2010. I was 14 and was literally scared of this man even if he don't exist... no joke! I still find him intimidating today but am less affraid. This character was so well done, same for Peter and Wendy; they are a cute couple and have fun personalities. Their romance is adorable X3 the music is superb, really suck you in the story; i love her! The action scenes are cool and thirlling, the moral is respected, the actors are doing a great job. It's a fun adventure, i was glad to watch this movie and will do it again :)

Now that I know the backstory of this movie, I now find it even more saddening that it bombed at the box office. It wasn't like the greatest ever but it was a good adaptation of Peter Pan. Also, this could be me but Jeremy Sumpter looks like Adrien Agreste, aka Chat Noir from Ladybug. Another thing. When Disney used a piece of the score from Peter Pan 2003, it reminds me of how Paramount used a bit of the score from Crimson Tide (which is also by Disney) as part of the music for the trailer for The Saint.

I can definitely see the scariness of the crocodile was definitely lost in translation in the 1953 Disney film, possibly indicating he was only a threat to Hook. In most other versions, including Disney’s latest attempt, the croc looks terrifying, and is definitely depicted as going after everyone.

This was a movie that my family used to have on DVD and we used to watch it tons growing up. Because of it, it was the Peter Pan I was most used to. I'd seen Disney's animated one and we had this incredible pop-up book too, but there was always something so great about the 2003 version I couldn't really say why. I hope more people watch it since I'm pretty sure it's on Netflix and it gets brought back into the public eye, giving it the praise it deserves that the actors, writers and everyone working on the movie never really got

I’ve grown up with this movie on dvd, so it holds quite a special place in my heart. While I definently also love the Disney version, I never had that version on dvd growing up, so the 2003 version was the only Peter Pan movie I ever really watched growing up. I still watch it to this day and just reliving the nostalgia is so amazing to me. I wish more people knew about this film, ‘cause I think it’s truly beautiful and magical. And as we all should remember to say: I do believe in fairies! I do, I do, I do! Though you could also stick with saying: I should like to give you a thimble

If it wasn’t for Disney’s Peter Pan, then we wouldn’t have the Legend of Zelda series.

Beneko '11 Nope, you pretty much got it all covered, lol. Shigeru Miyamoto himself has stated that Disney’s Peter Pan was one of the inspirations for the original Legend of Zelda game; or at the very least the inspiration for the design of Link.

I give this adaptation 10/10! Why? Because it is the most faithful, respectful, visually immersive version of Peter Pan I have ever seen. I saw this when I was eight years old, loved it. To me,Jeremy Sumpter wasn't playing Peter Pan. He is Peter Pan. This is the Peter Pan story told right. Don't need anymore remakes from traitor companies like Disney. Nuff said. Peace!

Jeremy Sumpter really did a great job conveying both the childlike and childish emotions Peter Pan had.

Of course, especially as she was voiced by a talented VA like Mae Whitman as she did a great job giving the mischievous pixie a voice while still retaining her personality from the original movie

In all honesty, I love all versions of the Peter Pan story. I look the Disney classic, Hook, and this film as well. Too bad it was punched in the gut by Disney and Peter Pan 2. But that’s what happens when children can’t understand the true values of dark and gritty but fun action packed adventure like this movie.

I do hope this movie gets a second viewing after the newly released peter pan and Wendy. I know there’s a lot of fuss about the wonky cgi in this 2003 production but in comparison to the latest Disney adaptation this one really captures the flying scenes with such finesse. In fact, the action and direction is so smooth and seamless. And the acting is completely unmatched. I personally love the visual balancing act it does between animation and live action. There is an incredible amount of heart that went into his movie and it truly shows.
