A couple notes: a lot of skills have a usefulness spike at level 4, by enabling new crafting and/or rituals. For charging tasks, the game will only assign a charging task when a lantern is completely drained. However, you can order a student to recharge a mana crystal with any charges consumed, and it will count exactly the same. It's the only reasonable way to finish the Gold/Platinum charge tasks.

For the gate house, you should make it your ritual room. It's the one room that has somewhat complicated requirements for its highest level, and also is the one room that is rarely used, so it doesn't matter that it's out of the way.

It's worth noting that Recharge gives both mana and speed. Since lightning users are usually fast I sometimes use Recharge to give my earth mages a speed boost in early games to work up their armour

I ignore anything other than Wolfkin for my Earth Mage. Your Earth mage HAS to be fast, especially for 4 skull fights. You want them to have that Earth Armour up preferably before anyone else moves. With their base bonus, plus medallions and the speed ritual my Earth Mage (Tire 3 wand) has a speed of 48. Personally I prefer an Earth/Nature front row with an Air/Fire back row. Earth for the armour obviously, nature buffs the power of the back row with surging strength (important for the Air mage). The air mages base attack multi strike looks crappy, but it adds the mages power to every strike, if you build your air mage for power (Ravencult plus medallions, plus ritual) you can get truly obscene power capable of one shotting most single four skull opponent's. The Fire mage I build for mana, yes, mana, so human plus medallions plus the ritual. Why Mana? Flame Lash. Read its description, uses half the mana but the damage is based on the amount of mana expended, not the percentage. Again with the right medallions and the mana ritual your fire mage will be able to one shot most four skull single targets. Properly built that lineup, with the right potions will deal with four skulls within two turns. Obviously other lineups will work, but I find that one the most efficient at tier 3.

That fight is the entire reason WHY I avoid Vivified as my Earth Mage. Yes they have a lot of health, but they are also slow. My Earth Mage is always Wolfkin, if the earth mage is not Wolfkin I do not hire them. At every Wand Tier Level I am looking for medallions that buff that speed. The more they have the better! I have learned that most wand lineups work in this game, though I do have my preferences, but all of them need one thing, a FAST Earth Mage. For your Earth Mage Speed is the single most important stat. You do not need the best health or mana, or the highest Power, but they HAVE to go first. So long as your Earth Mage can get that Earth Armour up first, then just about every other wand combination you care to try will work....

Yeah, up to now we were able to coast without much challenge, but the second the fights got serious, the speed of our Earth Mage started to hurt!

I know im a little late, as the other video is out, but on the Earth wizard, speed is critical, so a wolfkin earth user tends to be best so they always go first to do armor. Would have saved the student who went down so much in this fight

Yeah, I strongly feel the same way. Or a fast support lightning user, as they could use the recharge spell to give the earth user lightning reflexes.
