The opening sequence was far and away the most kick ass part of the show.

I haven't seen this show since it appeared as filler in the old Captain Kangaroo show. It is still amusing that Captain Nemo used the same character as Rocket Robin Hood, except blond instead of dark haired.

This show pulled a classic animation "bait and switch" on its intended audience: an exciting opening credits sequence that promised action and adventure... which segued into an educational show where the characters just stand around and talk about stuff.

I remember watching this when I was a kid in the '80s. CKCO used it as filler on Sunday morning, or something. It's amazing how we remember something as being so entertaining... and it turns out to be so awful in retrospect. "Nostalgia goggles", as they say.

I'm saying this as someone who was born in the 21st century - I actually also grew up on this. Yes, the writers /directors / producers are my grandparents, which makes sense on to why I happened to watch it, but this was far better than 99% of the modern stuff on streaming.

I was watching this cartoon as I remember seeing this on TV a bit in the early 1980s and couldn’t help but wonder if anyone sees any resemblance between Capt. Mark Nemo and Rocket Robin Hood?
@Fi_Fie_Four_Paws15 күн бұрын
They were drawn and animated by the same people in the same style, that's probably why.

This was made by my grandparents and I grew up on it. They definitely have a few episodes on hand, but you probably would have to reach out or contact them.

Nemo and the Natilus look like reworked Rocket Robin Hood art, which may be the case given that Al Guest, who produced this, was also involved with Rocket Robin Hood.
