great punk band, I love how they didn't attempt to have some hardcore punk rock image but still kicked ass regardless

Early punk was more just not having long hair, Punk progressed visual wise slowly, 1979 it was all mohicans and sid clones.. best of times though

still looked like Bootboys here. Bootboys are more hardcore as punks

All the boys seemed to have a parka like that in the 1970's and the unexpected surprise of seeing a groups frontman/singer wearing one somehow made it very 'punk'. Cool to behold! It's the last thing you'd think someone would wear on stage. Those parka's were two a penny at most provincial town open air markets and were light years away from Vivienne Westwood Seditionaries' 'designer' SW10 Kings Road Chelsea clothes. A rather UN-punk middle class price range there, and by comparison?.... You could swear there was some form of punk statement of intent wearing a parka like that? Great performance!

I was a skinhead in 68 69 and the mods wore parkas on their scooters with tiger tails on the back and spot lights on the front. Best days ever😂😎👍

@@mreokeydokey EVERY boy had a parka during my school days in the late 1960's and 1970's. And they seemed to be affordable to families on the council estate that I lived. Simpler times with close knit communities..... and yes "best days ever" stuff.

Cracking song. Right good wee band. This is what music was like before Simon Cowell, crappy Boy Bands and idiotic dance routines spoilt everything.

weren't the bay city rollers big in the 70s? trends come and go but crappy music is eternal
@anthonyporter44976 жыл бұрын
Arianrhod Hyde The Bay City Rollers were put together by a Simon Cowan like person. They were TOLD what to wear, what to sing and what to say....they were exploited. The story of the Rollers is in print. Have a read. What I like about bands such as The Undertones is the humour and the doing it themselves punk ethic projected. The Ramones were great too. Probably the best. Regards.

Ah, the halcyon days when creativity and intellectual ideas, rather than fear-porn and sowing seeds of division, were priorities of the BBC. I'd still pay a license fee, if shows like this were still around.
@rodeoruz Жыл бұрын
The BBC was a world leader during its "halcyon days" it was respected, impartial and brilliant at making TV programmes. Now its woke-joke and alas now an appalling/mere imitation of its former self.
@thursoberwick1948 Жыл бұрын
There's never been a "TV license", since "license" is the American spelling. Americans don't have TV licences either. American spellcheckers, eh?
@thursoberwick1948 Жыл бұрын
@@rodeoruzHaven't had a licenCe in over fifteen years. Especially not over their scummy treatment of Scotland. (At the time this would have been recorded, the BBC was busy providing biased coverage on the Undertones' native Northern Ireland.)
