I played in a band called Professor Rat and The Clems...but....we broke up. Then I was a spotlight operator for Ian Dury and The Blockheads..then...I ended up in America. My video work has been on Vans Warped Tour. .And I got to work with a few cool people....and bands....actors...but....I miss Derry. I grew up.in Derry

This is a very late-1960s chord progression, but obviously played much faster than the records of 10 years before. I think early 90s Mancunian bands such as the Stone Roses probably owe a lot to this.

Marjan Crncec I think there was more of a "back to basics" approach in punk- a return to 50's rock'n'roll, but with more attitude and a DIY ethos. There are more than 3 chords in this song and a melody. This isn't punk.

There is more then just 3 chords and they also don't use only chords they also use unison bends, double stops and shit like that. The idea of 3 chord punk was a myth created by "Punk" magazine in the 70's not to mention the same magazine was basicly telling you how to play 3 chords and how you should start your own band and those chords were OPEN chords not power or barre chords that punks used let alone blues boogie style I know I still have the zine. Ramones did play 3 chords but really rally fast and those were barre which are hard as shit for a beginner. So no punk uses more then just 3 chords from classic to hardcore I know I did extensive research on this sure you can find many punk bands that used 3 chord approach but they are nowhere near the pistols or dead boys or some other top punk bands that pioneered the sound.

@theaceface theres some shite around but theres also some pretty good bands- id consider the arctic monkeys- miles kane- the rifles- dogs and a few others in the tradition of the utones the jam etc- maybe not as good but worthy of praise nonetheless! In my eyes and ears theres always good music around - but id say this era was probally the best outside of the 1965-69 era!

(country &western ) because Northern Ireland....was ....country and western...and Shawaddywaddy...and WE....were the outsiders...WE...were the stripped pyjama top Boomtown Rat impersonators IN DERRY.... reason I KNOW...IS BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THEM and The Tones....were NOTHING LIKE THAT.
