Bought my first watch today. Think I’ve chosen wisely. It’s the Monaco Steve McQueen Edt. Not the flashy Gulf Edt. Very happy owner! Timepiece for life I reckon
@Nord_Mann4 жыл бұрын
James Tudor still wear it proudly every day since getting it. On all occasions🤩
@Nord_Mann4 жыл бұрын
James Tudor apology accepted. It’s important to appreciate the mind set of others. I’m not a collector and don’t really give much thought into the technicalities of a watch. I’m too busy tinkering with my Porsches. Just appreciate the story of the Monaco and the design, I think, is better than any Submariner or Patek Philippe. Besides, wearing a house on ones wrist isn’t my style and I appreciate the understated looks of the Monaco. Wearing a golden cock on my wrist is just laughable to me. My sons will inherit this piece one day. To me the value is the history it will represent anyway. Money wise it’s already like zero dollars in my mind. Just visited the dealer for a tune up and stole (bought COVID-19 cheap) two quartz TAG’s. One for each of my boys to their confirmation next year and the year after.

Can't believe I just found this channel! Eyeing up the Gulf special edition to upgrade from my Ahoi Atlantik at some point in the near future. I really really love the Monaco Steve McQueen colours edition in Calibre 11 configuration, naturally, but the Gulf striping and special edition title just win it for me. And at 39mm, is just that bit more wrist friendly, for my sizing.

One of the best tag heur watches, but the crown on the other side was really confusing, not something i was used to, i wished it was on the right. I would say thats the only major con of the watch, and pet peev of many watches for me. Crowns and chronograph buttons should be on the right, helium escape valves on divers should be on the left.

Is it true that TH uses Seiko movements?
@robiulahmed6 жыл бұрын
It's not entirely true. TAG Heuer bought the intellectual property of a Seiko movement, which they then modified. This became the 1887 movement. Other TAG Heuer watches are completely in house, but they also have their fair share of ETA movements as well. They are, in essence, broadly the same as their competitors (Omega, Breitling, IWC) etc. There is a popularised movement among watch snobs that they're inferior, and this is mainly to do with the fact that they also sell cheaper watches.
@jovanjovanovic76106 жыл бұрын

Zenith may have announced the first automatic chrono but Seiko was the first to also incorporate the vertical clutch column wheel into an automatic and it was the first to be used in space and arguably the first to be sold on commercial basis. Yet these Swiss watches get all the credit.
