"How would you turn this into an amusement park...and do it safely?"...you need to see the City Museum in St. Louis, take a good look around. Many of the elements there can be seen taking shape at Cementland. Cemetland was to be much the same thing on a much grander scale. (As for the City Museum and by the City Museum, structural engineers inspect it on a regular basis to ensure safety. Mr. Cassilly was very concerned with safety as well as art, architectural and industrial reuse, and the museum continues in that tradition.)

It would have been interesting to see the park's architectural plans to see how he intended to pull this off. Would be interesting for sure. Huge place. So much to look at. Thanks for this. Awesome video.

Look up the St. Louis City Museum. It is an art museum created by Bob Cassilly and will give you a look into his art style!

It's off of Riverview in St Louis and there's a lot going on in the area. Sirens are super common here. I went a couple Sundays ago and heard at least 20 gun shots during my exploring

I climbed up top of one of the smaller buildings, and let me tell you, it was scary lmao. But once we got up top, the bats were swooping in and out of the chutes up top, into windows, flying around our heads and it was worth it.

This place had so much potential. If anyone is curious about the artist look him up. He built and designed the City Park in Saint Louis and that place is insane.

I was there 3 years ago today to be exact! I had a snapchat memory pop up and watched my videos I took and then came here to youtube to search for some more footage of this beautiful place. Unfortunately it was at night when me and some friends went, but I would love to come back to this place and explore some more possibly in the day time. Also I like the video you took! really shows a lot of this place in a better pov then when I was here.

Another fascinating achievement (by you)! A lot of mystery still surrounds this place -- not only with the (alleged) murder of Bob Cassilly, but the fact that a fire in 2014 was determined to be arson. There was another fire in 2016 which was most likely arson as well, since there was nothing flammable in the area where the fire occurred (in your video at 12:46) -- yet an off-duty police officer heard an explosion coming from the structure the same night. And the expensive artwork that had been kept in this location was suddenly missing (according to an interview with Mr Cassilly's widow in the Riverfront Times). Too bad Mr Cassilly's vision never materialized -- this would have been a very good example of "re-purposing material". Thanks Lord for another awesome adventure!

Awesome video! That cement block is actually a hollow core precast floor plank. If it fell like that, due to deteriorating walls, it should be in rubble. Even picking those panels up in the wrong spot can make them “shatter.” I erect steel and precast for a living, so it was really cool to see the steel, concrete and precast in this setting. Would have been a unique place to visit, if it had the chance to open. I haven’t researched the guy yet, but judging from all the concrete used alone (cement land, I know) he must have owed someone a lot of money. Therefore, an unfortunate accident. Sorry for the long post, but this was a really cool video. I just subscribed from the cop car video. Stay safe!

Cool video, I explored that place for 3 hours and feel like I have so much more to explore. Should definitely take a slower longer video to do the place more justice. And also when your in the supply house by the sphinx, that square is an old Anheuser-Busch logo not Ghirardelli.

@ExploringWithCF5 жыл бұрын
If he hadn't been killed it would have been,amazing to see what he ended up with there. The standing ring at 3:00 looked like the Stargate. The castle was his crowning achievement before his death and the area around it was the closest to his theme park idea. Loved the suspension bridge and it least if it broke you had a nice soft swamp landing. I can't help wondering if this guy was related to the man that built the concrete water park I Explored a few years back? Lol "instant death holes" I may borrow that phrase in the future Cole. This is definitely one of your best Explores guys.
