In most shows or series, Endeavor would've went for the save and Natsuo would've forgiven him in 1, 2, 3. I'm glad Horikoshi decided to make it so that didn't happen. Endeavor isn't looking for their forgiveness, if they ever decide to do so. He's looking to atone. And even then, he's not going to force any of them to like him. That makes his character arc so much more impactful.

This arc and the last are not bad at all, they are just horribly paced and prolonged while not being the best arcs in the manga, not to mention the useless filler ep and the pauses. Everyone was waiting for MVA arc for it to last only 5 episodes, while it was supposed to be the main and most amazing arc of season 5. Considering it has as many chapters as the 1aVS1b, it should have lasted at least 12 episodes. So in the end it isn't the fault of Horikoshi, Bones just screwed up the entire season for the sake of a movie.

@@mrnoidea1009 I don’t think the pacing is bad. I see the “pacing issues” as a personal problem. I’m not bothered by the flashbacks. Even though they take up maybe a couple more minutes of an episode, they are still beneficial to what’s going on (however, I’ll admit episode 17 did go a little overboard, but they still didn’t bother me). We should get about 6 episodes at most for MVA this season, and they could end up finishing it in season 6 like the pro hero arc. I heard that MVA has a lot of fighting, and considering the Endeavor vs Nomu fight was apparently 5 chapters and they managed to fit it into one episode, I’m sure they’ll be able to pull it off. From what I can tell, they haven’t truly messed up when it comes to adapting the actual parts of the manga.

Interesting difference between the manga and anime is what Endeavor says to Natsu after failing to save him Anime: "I thought if I saved you you would never again have anything to say to me." (That's just a paraphrase, but I think the main parts are as it was subbed) Manga: "...I couldn't help but think about how, if I saved you...then going forward you might feel like you couldn't stand up to me." (That one IS exactly as it was written) I feel like the anime translation was too vague as it could kind of just be read as "you wouldn't want to talk to me anymore" instead of "I didn't want you to be unable to stand up to me because you 'owe me' for saving you" (or at least, that was his fear)

Endeavor knows very well what he did to his family in the past is probably beyond forgiveness at this point. So rather than forgiveness, he's seeking atonement from the past to his family. He knows that his family may never be truly happy when he's around. So even if it's very hard for him, he finally decided to distance himself to them, in order for them to be happy.

i loved this episode!! the whole drama with the todorokis is such an interesting and complex relationship. Personally i dont think i will ever like endeavor as a character, father or person; the abuse and trauma he inflicted upon his family is something i can’t really forget. But i admit his character is interesting, seeing him trying to change and amends his sins and how he tries to respect his family boundaries; is something i really like about him.

I wish I tried half as hard in school as Bones is trying not to adapt MVA. Fr tho, I can't believe MVA is only going to be like 5 episodes long. Fuck the higher ups at Toho and Shueisha that decided switching the arcs around for the sake of a cash-grab movie was a great move. At first, I was optimistic to seeing how creative they could be with the arc switch, but that optimism went down the drain once we got that filler episode and the last episode only adapting 1 chapter from the manga. Its a shame, this season easily had the potential of being the best. Even if MVA turns out to the best thing ever, was it really worth it? Next time, I hope they stick to telling the story the way it was meant to be told. That's my mini rant on this second cour of this season.
