These are your rights, they are the same everywhere the rule of law exists. Islam has their own, outside the UDHR.

My dad died of cancer when I was 4 years old. My mom has been suffering from incapacitating depression every since I was early teen, until getting shock treatment only to be diagnosed with Alzheimers disease a year after. Now she can hardly recognize me and I'm 30. I have been the only functioning member of this family since I was little and I will continue to do so if only to give my little sister a better chance.

***** Well yes, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't know some of rights you have. Okay they will probably keep violating them in many ways, but sometimes we (the people) can make a tiny little difference and take significant actions.
@Nebula.Dragon9 жыл бұрын
I am a 14 year old and I was shown this video in school so yes some governments do care. If that carries on differences can be made.
@MrLMxD9 жыл бұрын
Oh Nebula... As an older guy I got to tell you and don't get me wrong but... You still have so much to live and with this I am telling you, that you have so much to learn and see for yourself. One thing is correct... Your teachers do care about your education, but the rest... Little Dragon, you still have one long road ahead of you.

wow, that was really touching. (I wanted to see all the words before they turned into the buildings...) how sad that much of the world doesn't have these "luxuries" that are basic human rights. Whenever human rights are brought up I feel very warm and secure, hardly anything does that for me. But hearing someone tell me what my rights are and have me agree with them is very comforting. I love our UN rights. I just wish they were enforceable by world law. When that happens then we will finally be the world we all hope to achieve
@hopaloop8 жыл бұрын
+doodelay well said doodlay. They are extremly beautiful aren't they. I've only learned them tonight and i'm 44. probably the sanest document i've ever read.
@itschelsey7 жыл бұрын
The states that agree with them signed the UDHR and the ones that didn't agree didn't sign it. Leaders of countries who disregard human rights and go on to commit any of the four gravest crimes go on to have warrants for arrest by the international criminal court.. but then thats where the issue is.. cause no one can actually arrest them in their own country!! Frustrating, really.
@throughput66745 жыл бұрын
Having another man or woman tell you what your rights are, only makes you a slave. Equality BEFORE the law. You where created with freewill. were you not? Only a child of the province needs their rights given to them.

@resonanttotality83228 жыл бұрын
That's the kicker. It always has been. But the reasons why they are pretty much ignored is a long story involving bad and corrupt people who believe in and enforce Cultural Imperialism, Marginalization, Exploitation, Helplessness and Violence. As well as mental illness that encompasses bottom line revenue, greed, hunger for power, and consumption.
@itschelsey7 жыл бұрын
There's also no way to enforce it..

@Digdigs2 Easements are a balance of one party's property rights with the freedoms of another (e.g. access to a public road). Only one party "owns" the easement. The other parties just have free licence to "use" it as allowed by law. All the easements I've run across were just part of someone's property with a driveway on it that lead to a property that did not adjoin a public road. The owner of the property not by the road had access to the road w/o "trespassing" on his neighbor's property.

@Nykstukas9 The answer to your question, What is a decent standard of living? and what is a good reason to be jailed? They're found in the individual articles within the declaration of human rights. you can go and look them up if you want just to clarify that they are not illusionary. As for the right to possessions, it prevents anyone taking what belongs to you arbitrarily because the possession has intrinsic worth and value to you. 'No one person should take from another without just cause'.

@Ste0wnz yes and no, and it depends on the country. Since I don't know neither the specific case nor the UK's exact law system (I'm Danish), it's a bit hard for me to say. Though what you mentioned generally doesn't work, however in some cases it can. For instance, Denmark will often not release prisoners or other people for trial to countries that have the Death Penalty, since it is considered against the law in Denmark.

"put some good sense in any judicial system", couldn't agree more. belabouring procedural errors shouldn't have an influence on the main subject. the human right's basis, treating all people the same no matter of their origins, should apply in all cases with no regards to one's childhood experiences and the like. thanks for the chat, seems like the internet is not such a bad place after all. i'm getting busy now, so good bye and have a great day...
