i had a great uncle who has a _similar_ story, although not nearly as remarkable. But he fought in 3 wars including ww1 and ww2. He was so injured after ww1 (losing a few body parts, including his _nether_ _region_ ) that they refused his enlistment for ww2 originally, but he persisted and was able to persuade himself into an officer position due to his experience. He fought in some very important battles for the Canadians, including Vimy Ridge in WW1 and Dieppe in WW2 (becoming a POW) and Korea but idk anything about his time there. He made it back though. Sadly I never met him, died long before I was born, I believe sometime in the late 70's, but we had a picture of him in a ww1 trench with his medals hanging in my house when I was growing up.... wtf have i ever done..

This reminds me of one of our a company commander adjacent to my unit back in 2005. I noticed his glass eye, but just thought it lazy.
