My late wife was buried free of charge in our parish cemetery, in part, due to the financial generosity of modern-day folks like these and a casket maker who donated his work and the casket itself to us. My wife's condition was that of long-term terminal illness that cost more than $2 million per year for her to stay alive. If I made too much money, I would have to shoulder 20% of it out of pocket and thus, we were in a state of enforced poverty. Brothers and sisters from across the US donated both to my wife's care and to my financial survival as I struggled to get my first meaningful employment in many years. May God remember them in His Kingdom when their times come. May my late wife intercede for them until they get there.

This reminds me to pray for the intercession of those Saints whose names we do not know, and to pray for those that may be nameless to most, and forgotten by others, or simply forgotten by time. We should should all remember to fervently and intensely pray for those sick, suffering, and in captivity during services, as it can be easy for such prayers to be said automatically and without thought during services as lay people. The way we pray for and treat the forgotten will likely be considered more valuable to God than prayers for those we love naturally due to family ties or friendships. Thank you for this video. - J

Thank you for these videos. Something tells me that these acts of mercy are what it means to be a Christian. If we confess Jesus as Lord but do not walk in love, we need to reconsider who we think Jesus Christ is.
@davidowen967111 ай бұрын
A problem, Sir, who does "walk in love," not placing her or his own material and mental security and well being first. Orthodox or Catholic bishops? Monks and nuns even?
@vivacristorey436311 ай бұрын
@@davidowen9671 Remember the parable where the self-righteous man said, "Thank God I am not like these sinners." When we see examples of charity, we should compare ourselves to if we live up to it rather than accusing others of not doing so. At the judgement we will be asked what we did not if we noticed what others did not do.
@vivacristorey436311 ай бұрын
That's true. However, it is good to remember that we are different members of Christ's mystical body working together under Him. This means that those who pray in isolation out of charity are just as necessary as those who actively do ministry in the world. We each participate by doing what we have been called to do. Whatever we are call to, we must do it out of love for God and neighbour.
@davidowen967110 ай бұрын
@vivacristorey4363 But there are other questions. Including a "Where is the Church?"question. Clearly, the "Big O" Orthodox answer is not, "Where Peter is." So what is their/our answer? Even more focus on nationalism, bones and paintings?
@vivacristorey436310 ай бұрын
@@davidowen9671 I am a devout Catholic and would encourage everyone to prayerfully study history and to ask what "the first among equals" could mean practically. But this particular video was not an attack on Catholicism. Instead, it was a reminder of holy examples of charity.

It's amazing how the love of Christ filled their hearts. I pray we return to this. I can't help but think about how we cast out our sick and are told not to go near them, letting them die alone in hospitals with no loved ones. We called this good! Where are our heros like these, standing up and saying no! The lepers are not to be cast away. No, covid will not keep us from our loved ones!!!!

Can someone help me? I try following Christ and obeying the commandments but I fail so many times. I am weak and have many health troubles. But I keep falling. I fear I am lost. I wish I was pure but am so far from it. Does anyone experience this? Can I still be saved, if I have confessed my sins but still sin, though I try not too? I am ashamed to even pray as I know He sees a sinners prayer as an ugly thing. I want to change so much but my weakness stop me .

You must have a relationship with a spiritual father to guide your spiritual journey. We have all felt the way you have, but the answer is not in a video's comments section. Contact Fr. Panayiotis, an experienced spiritual father who can help guide you in the right direction and, in the end, find yourself a priest you can see regularly. Trisagionproductions@gmail.com

Unfortunately many people with really good intentions, end the opposite way, when they get influenced by power. That is what happened with the Paravalones ( the ones who follow the parable of the Good Samaritan) in Alexandria. They were mainly monks that were sent by their monasteries at the Nitrian dessert to take care of the sick and the lepers. They got involved in religious and doctrinal disputes and ended as armed hooligans , beating Hebrews Gentiles, and Novatian Christians.
