I was raised in a protestant baptist church. Our pastor always read the words of the Lord instituting the last supper “this is my blood/body, take and eat…” and then followed it up by “this is only a symbol of our faith and not actually his blood and body” which always bothered me even as a child and teenager. The notion they had just read Scripture verbatim and it followed up by a negation of the Lord’s very words never sat well with me. After 2 decades of atheism, I have learned of how St. Ignatius combated this very heresy so early on in the Church’s history. This is one of the many reasons that I have found the Orthodox Church as the only One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and become a catechumen. Lord have mercy on us and save us, Amen!

Early Reformed Baptists believed in real presence. The reformers believed in real presence, besides Zwingli. 1689 London Baptist confession has real presence. Most reformed Baptist churches say there’s real presence and some do take of it weekly

I’m an ex catholic and I understand how attractive romanism is. But unfortunately it is not biblical. I do not have a great way of explaining it but if you are in any way in doubt or would like to explore further I would listen to John MacArthurs lectures about romanism. It’s not actually Christianity when you look into it properly. It’s a sort of quasi Christian religion but doesn’t consider Christ enough for salvation. The books which are part of the canon were never considered inspired - you need to look into this properly. I’ve been around catholic culture my whole life and I can tell you Holiness is not a thing. It’s more of a culture than anything. It has no real basis in scripture rather church traditions. It’s really dangerous because it comes close to the truth but it’s fundamentally flawed. It opens the door to so much demonic influence. Be careful with it. Don’t stop seeking Christ and He will lead you to the Father. Christ is the ONLY way to the Father by grace through faith using His Word as a lamp to your feet! God bless friend.

@@agape777 roman catholicism and eastern orthodoxy are not the same, we would agree that the latin church is in deep error and schism. As for John Macarthur, he is nestorian because he denies Mary is the mother of God, Christ was both fully man and fully God, denying Mary as the mother of God is the same as calling Jesus only a human I will also say that the protestant canon of scripture was made by martin luther in the 16th century, and that the authentic canon is one provided by the orthodox church, and if you call the church heretical, the list of books in the bible comes from those heretics

We need Christ in us to be strong, to start to live a Christian Life as Christ commands in the Gospel, the Start is baptism in the Orthodox Church, this I can tell you by experience, the mystery of confession, baptism, anointment, and Holy Communion, in those mysteries (and in all other mysteries) in the Church, Christ works in us, things we can not describe with words, but something happens, you will know, if you walk in faith - all Saints are Saints cause Christ lived in them and they lived for Christ

I live in Maryland and the history books read that religion brought slavery, the new world religious experiment failed and Ignatius Loyola and the Society of Jesus are in control of the "Propaganda of Rome" and "religious freedom" was granted to a "Sect" not to everyone. They changed "The Prince of Peace" into the King of a Chosen Sect in my lifetime. We live the 1881 Greek Revision, so they left this part out.

Christians, please pray for me to live up to this title given by God I am truly not worthy of. My heart strains and my body crumbles, I feel it's too difficult most of the time and it's too much to bear. "Oh the suffering I endured... ...but God delivered me from all of them" the Bible. So true, more the life, itself. P S. Loved the song at the end. A most beautiful prayer, wrapped in a marvelous music.

Saint Ignatius told Trajan that Jesus Christ is in his heart and that he would never deny him. When they went to collect his bones that were left by the lions after tearing the saint to pieces they found that the lions had not eaten his heart. The saints heart had the inscription of Jesus Christ written in Gold on his heart. Glory to God and his saints and His most blessed mother that prays for all those that love her Son. Amen

With much gratitude, i sincerely thank you for this video, St Ignatius was the 2nd Patriarch, after St Peter, initially for the Jewish converts to Christianity of the Syriac Orthodox church of Antioch, successor from St Peter...Patriarch Ivodosios was the 2nd successor, after St. Peter, as Patriarch for the Gentiles, however he passed away in AD 57 so St. Ignatius of Antioch fulfilled both roles as Patriarch of Jewish converts and Gentiles...faithful followers of Christ picked up His mortal remains from the Colosseum in Rome, which was what the lion's left behind and all our Patriarchs to this day bear St Ignatius as their first name and wear upon their necks a locket with His mortal remains....In India we have churches in His name...May He always be a Light of God seeking God's mercy for God's flock and all people everywhere...... sending love and prayers from India
