I don't even use Rashid's projectile due to the fear of di and jump ins . I only use the OD version . Is that a bad way to play Rashid Birds?

yes because rashid gets big corner carry and damage from his fireballs (when they catch someone in the air)

Yes because rashid doesn't have the best neutral buttons so if you don't use his projectiles you are limiting your options. Especially against characters that have trouble dealing with them. On top of the fact that if you space heavy tornado it is an anti air, and if you hold a tornado it beats DI. So you have answers to both of those options with his projectiles too. And if you never use those tools, your opponent will never try to counter them, and those counters (DI and Jump) are pretty risky so you want your opponent to go for them so you can blow them up for it when you don't throw a tornado.

They're good if you can vary them to make your opponent wary of jump ins. The arc on them is honestly both a good and bad thing. Limited range but easy pickups and varied arcs.
